You can get a 3 day chat ban if 2 people report you for any reason they want?  I think this came from the same division even...This is the first time i've had a chat ban ever, and all I can say is that is insane.

I'll just take a break from this game and will certainly effect my in-game spending for the future.

It is not just 2 reports - I will bet there were other ones on other days and they accumulated.  I would not begin to put it at the level of "insane".

You have to be reported 6 consecutive times by different players over a certain amount of time to be chat banned or all at once.  Unless someone has sent in a screen shot of you bad mouthing a player and the sent it into support under rule violations well then you better be carefully because if they sent in a ticket and if someone reports you well yea you can get another ban maybe you should try to not say stuff to people that will get you banned.

On a side note I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it was sent in submitted by ticket.  It's only then you could possibly receive a strike.

iirc it's 6 times by 2 or more people. Meaning they can be in a full div -> burn 2 reports each -> chatbanned.

It was an immediate in-game ban, so it wasn't done via "special" submittal.  I've never knew I had another other "reported" events - so how does someone look to see how many times that occurred?

and it's a 24hr chat ban, not 3 days, you read the date wrong.   it's 3 May 17

ah, I see that now.  Thanks.

Actually, I think the 2 I got were in the same division.  I didn't curse, or use bad language but I wasn't happy with our CV who wasn't giving anyone cover.  The enemey CV had 7 kills and our CV (in division) was keeping the fighters only over his own div-mates.

Making a complaint like that in a civilized way doesn't violate any WG rules - so I find it odd that someone can get chat banned for not violating rules but just because other players want to make a couple clicks.

Support and devs have stated before only 1 report from a person counts so they cant burn a bunch on one person and have more than one count towards the total. So it takes 6 different people to get a chat ban on someone.

Do you know the time-frame those reports count from?  Does it ever reset?

Not sure on that one. Could be a good one to ask Pigeon of War.

nope...no naughty words.

That sucks, it sounds like a bit of an abuse of the report mechanic, but that's the risk you run when you get into an Internet fight with a team full of muppets! :)  It's still better than nothing existing at all though.  I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you're normally well behaved it seems pretty unlikely that this will happen again any time soon.

Yet I continue to make holocaust and gulag jokes at the start of games. Never chat banned. What on earth are you saying?

I did ;-)

Statuz, *sigh* I would not want to get on your bad side. I have deep rooted insecurities you would prey on and have me crying in the shower.

The only complaint that registers is "Misbehavior in Chat."  This is applied against your account karma. You cannot get chat ban until you are at 0 karma, which is pretty hard to achieve honestly. Even the most foul-mouthed of my friends can maintain 10+ karma. I have nearly 300 karma in the game, not to bragging but to show that is pretty easy to maintain.

Additionally, only the first report from a person counts. You may get reported 7 times by the same person, but it only counts as 1 report.

So to get a chat ban, you have to consistently be earning multiple reports from multiple people such that you have 0 karma (again, something rather difficult to achieve, as people will compliment you for being a good team player or having a good game with krakens or high caliber even if you were an [edited]). We are only hearing one side of the story here, yours. You may want to take some time and reflect why you are being reported so often and why you struggle to get compliments.

CV players get flamed a lot.  It doesn't matter if you have an 72% solo queue win rate in CVs, the team will still flame you in the games that go bad.  It's really frustrating.

As a CV player, might I recommend NOT flaming the CVs?  Thanks.
