The question to me which I feel is already answered, is what happens to unspent coins.

 

At 435 and without much time to get more I'm pretty unlikely to be able to spend them all. All I really want is a go-faster mod for my French cruisers. What's the most effective way to spend 255 coins?

 

Also further disincentives grinding any more, more coins from this point will just be 'wasted' too. 

 

Project R with milestone prizes was much superior to this.

I just:

 

1. Looked at the competition and prizes.

2. Assessed how much play I could manage over the 3 weeks.

3. Chose the prize I thought I could get the coins for.

4. Re-assessed my progress/prize choice after each stage.

5. Was happy when I got the amount I needed.

6. Played the rest of the matches for the honour of my Element (forget about coins).

 

 

Easy, no disappointment, happy with prize, happy with event!

Grab the camos for exp bonus while grinding.  I dumped all my coins on that since I already have a Kami R.  I thought about modules, but I have the smoke one I need for my Perth.  None of the others really look appealing.

Three weeks of encouragement to grind like a crazy person in order to get one special module an a few camouflages is pretty miserly compared to Project R. 

 

Without having any requirements it also lacks incentive to change things up, Project R got me into RU DD as it was one of the lines I'd not started and some of the requirements were 'sink X ships at T3-T4-T5' etc.

Probably the best deal, I'll have 280 after the module at this point, enough for 3 camo's with 50 left over. 20 more coins looks out of reach with the requirements going up and up unless I quit my job...

I didn't have to grind like crazy to get what I wanted because I assessed what I could manage. If you decided to pick something that meant you had to grind and found you didn't enjoy the game then maybe you 'wanted' more than you should have(?)

 

 

Sure they could have made this competition exactly the same as Project R, but they decided on something different; maybe next time they might try something different again more to your liking(?)

The smoke generator module is really worth it for the Perth indeed! I've done that too!
