1. When controlling a squadron, show how far away that particular squadron is away from ships, instead of how far away the ships are from the carrier.

2. Show some indication of when the squadron is detected by enemy ships/planes.

I am not much of a CV player but those are excellent ideas.

Always found it somewhat annoying how I can't tell if the enemy can see my planes or not, making attempting sneak attacks with strike planes a crap shoot at best.

Great ideas! I always wondered why it wasn't a thing already...

I'd love to know when my squads are detected, but on a CV with many squads, I don't want the screen to be cluttered. If it's implemented well, I have no objections.

2. would be OP.

It'd basically make hunting down DDs a joke, since unlike AA, you can't just decide to not spot some planes.

If that gets introduced, then it should only be introduced as a T4 skill.

Considering how most of the tier four skills are crap for a CV, I wouldn't mind it being behind such a barrier.

How would they be helpful?

Boats spot planes, long before the planes spot boats in game.

Just a little orange "!" near the detected plane's icon is all that's needed, there. And the distance can be gauged from the first plane selected (in the case of multiples selected, only the first is counted)

Distance from ships is nice, but simply knowing the distance isn't enough on it's own. It's up to the player to know possible AA aura ranges of various ships. Otherwise the distance is kind of useless.

Aspotted indicator would be nice.  Also fixing the spotting in general...pretty tired of having cruisers be able to see my tiny planes in the sky...yet those planes can't see the cruiser shooting AA at them.

That is just going to have to be on the CV player to know that sort of thing. Although, it's usually just 5km max, unless someone went and kitted their ship for AA. It would clutter up the CV UI too much to have auras representing AA bubbles, especially if the enemy is huddled around each other.

Doesn't the mere act of firing the AA guns increase the spotting range for the ship in question though?
