Hi Reapermod,

Thank you for contacting Wargaming support.

Please note that on update 0.5.12 we implemented a change on the game economy via how the credits are gained by ships and repair costs. Before Update 0.5.12, the repair cost of a high-tier ship was unpredictably costly. Taking lots of damage in a single battle landed high-tier players with sudden, massive repair bills. We noticed this affected player behavior -- their tactics were more conservative to avoid repairing massive damage and incurring massive costs.

We want players to take risks and keep things interesting.

So, as of Update 0.5.12, repair costs no longer scale by damage. In other words, a ship’s maintenance and repair cost is now flat, based on its tier. Whether it’s a paint scratch on the hull or a complete decimation of the engine, you’ll pay the same, and you’ll see the most dramatic decreases with higher-tier ships.

Best Regards,

ok if there was even a scratch in paint ok then i was hit,im saying i didnt even have a scratch and you took my credits for nothing, thats not right and im taking this to the forums to see what the rest of wows clients think about this,i didnt get hit by 1 shell, hence no damage as pics show,we will see how many realize this is going on because at that rate no sense even playing a high tier ship, you dont think this will affect peoples play think again when all realize just whats going on...

Hello Reapermod,

I think there was a bit of confusion regarding the new repair system.

There is now a flat cost for all repairs after every battle, even when no damage is acquired.

Think of it more as a refueling, restocking, and maintenance fee.

This is done to offset the old, very high cost of repair when your ship gets destroyed.

While this may seem like it's taking more money, I believe it balances out pretty well by not having extremely high repair costs for when you get destroyed.

I hope this clears things up!

Best Regards,

Hello Reapermod,

I can see you're still unhappy with the changes regarding the repair cost.

What I can do is compile your feedback and send it directly to our developers.

Rest assured they will see this information, and will definitely take it into consideration.

Our players are our most valuable resource, and information like this is incredibly helpful when it comes to the decision making process regarding the game.

By now, your information has already reached the developers, who will look at it with due time.

Thank you and have a nice day!

*Sigh*

There is a flat service fee, regardless of how much damage you take. This is to encourage people to play more aggressively, since 'saving your hitpoints' doesn't affect the service fee. It's been like this for several months now.

I think it was a good change and I fully support it.

Been that way for awhile now. This change actually helps the average player. Surprised you just now noticed it. It was debated in the forums quite a bit at the time.

:amazed: I'm pretty sure they announced the flat charge, so how can you get ripped off if you are made aware of the fee?:amazed:

How have you not known about the flat service fee?

You don't get a repair bill based on damage taken anymore. You get the same service fee no matter what.

Think of it more as a rental fee. You have to pay your rental  fee each time you take the ship out. So think of it as renting the ship for the battle, and that's the fee. But it's been this way for a long while now.

It was a fairly requested change from the community. I also remember people saying that it won't solve all the passive play because some people don't read the forum nor the patch note and still play passive in the prospect of reducing the repair cost. It was also said that people like this would come to the forum to complain about repair cost despite taking no damage months and months after the patch had hit.

To tell the truth, i expected you to realise that sooner. Maybe you took a break from playing?

It was one of the best changes WG made.

It obviously suffers from an optics issue, and would have been better to have shifted the costs to ammo or consumables, or just reduce income, but it gets the job done.

It's been this way since what, like August or September? I would think by now that most people would've figured this out. Even the ones who don't read the patch notes or come to the forum.

I disagree. If the brunt of the per-battle cost to operate a ship were in ammunition and / or consumable use, it would no longer promote aggressive play. It would promote passive play.

Good grief, the beta testers are now whining even louder than the new players.

Ripped off of credits?  I can't remember the last time I didn't make money in my Iowa.  All of my T10s can usually break even if I do even half-decently.  Hell, I had a match where I only did 45000 damage in my Montana and still ended up making 25000 credits because I tanked almost 2 million potential damage from 3 Yamatos and had over half of the team's total capture/defense points before dying.

This is an exceptional match by all means, but I had a profit margin of almost 500000 credits.  With a tech-tree Iowa that has no credit-boosting camo/flags.

This has been known since it came out and has been discussed at least 2 times per month since then.

Pretty sure it's been more than twice a month. At least it feels like it.

I like the service/repair fee change rather if they don't go back to the old system

This change happened like 8 months ago if I recall... and it was highly publicized and discussed of at the time. Sorry if you think that during the time you were away and you not knowing of this makes you entitled of being ripped off credits

Anywho, this change encourages aggresive play, and I love it. No more sissies saving their hide and not doing their job under the pretext "But imma lose credits if I take damage!".

I still see people hide behind that excuse all the time.  The vast majority of players have caught on, but there are those special people who are so mentally-disabled they can't process even such an old change.  So I just remind them that credit compensation for team damage is gone...

What I suggested at the time was to flat out slash credit income, across the board, hugely buff premium consumables and camo, and make the costs scale with tier, then adjust ship and module purchase costs accordingly.

So something like, T10 concealment camo offers a -10% to concealment, base concealment nerfed 7% across all DDs and stealth based CA, and the camo costs 30k instead of 8k.
