So I bought back the Fletcher...

And I have to say...it's pretty awesome.

 

I haven't played it since selling it once I got the Gearing way back in October of 2015. However, the Gearing just ain't what it used to be with the current meta. Others are welcome to disagree with that statement, but my recent results in the Gearing have been nothing short of abysmal. I just can't seem to do anything with it.

 

Anyway, given that I have plenty of credits available to me, I figured "Why not?" and bought back the Fletcher.

 

I was a full-on potato when I first had it, so it feels like a much better ship to me now and is one hell of a torp boat!

 

Could be just a "honeymoon" phase for me, but I like it so far!

Yeah, I much prefer the Fletcher over the Gearing at this point. The torpedoes and maneuverability on the Fletcher just feel so much better tier for tier.

Yeah, true, but at the time credits were hard to come by and I had my heart set on the Gearing.

My only reason I kept her at first was the premium camo, but I'm glad I didn't sell it. The credit grind was real back then.

I bought back Fletcher and sold it a week later. Gearing is better.

Gearing is at best a lateral move and not an upgrade. I had read about it quite a bit before moving up, and find it underwhelming as expected.

 

Some can use her well, but in the few games I've played her, I'm only average. I know she requires a different style of play, but we haven't meshed.

 

I know I'm not the only one that thinks Fletcher would be the better T10, but I doubt that will change.

 

Enjoy the Fletcher, I use mine as a Torp boat, which after 0.6.3, is probably the best anyway.

Fletcher I play the same as a Benson but when I go to Gearing I play much less aggressive. I prefer to play Fletcher over Gearing vs Tier X. The torpedoes alone ...

The Fletcher has always been my favorite ship.  It used to be my best Tier X ;), but with Radar and Torp Accel in the game the Gearing now slightly edges it out (I can do close escort for divisions outside of opponent radar and still hit targets with fast torps and guns at 13k).  Fletcher is still better at capping and knifing in tight island clusters though.

Fletcher is the only ship at this point I would buy a permanent camo for.  It is simply beast!  I LOVE MINE!!
