Had a really good game (for me) in my new Bismark.  Games have been all over the place today and I picked up the Bismark fairly late last night.  Had some decent games but the WR is terrible.  Still completely stock and captain JUST got trained (16 pt).

Been getting some grief for game play - still trying to figure out how much I can tank especially with the A hull.  A game i just had - we had 2 of 3 caps - leading nicely and a couple ships left.  Had 4 ships on my tail.  I sail away while taking shots when chat fires up with me being full health most of the game.  In reality I was on my last Damage Control and just waiting for the last cool down.  I let the team down and didn't really do anything.  In reality I had already done 80K+ damage.  I also had 2 kills and very soon afterward got the 3rd one.  Meanwhile he had been next to me observing how badly I had been doing.

In the end we won (me, CV and a DD still alive), I was #4 on the team, 110,445 damage, 2445 xp, 65 target hits, 3 kills, 4 defended ribbons, 19 secondary hits... 2.885 mil potential damage.

Chat can be the forum for idiots.  I have experienced the same from time to time and it is best to just ignore it.

it seems there is always someone who thinks your efforts could have been just a bit better;

usually because if they had been that person would still be alive, LOL.

Have to fully agree with this statement.  One way or the other, somebody is always going to be upset at something you are doing.  We have the entire North American Continent as a player base and we are playing a game in which we blow things up. We're going to attract more than our fair share of idiots.  Best thing is to just realize they were dropped on their heads as children and keep beating up on the red ships  (unless one of them is mine.  In that case feel free to miss me as much as possible).  :playing:

I often wonder if the "free to play" aspect of the game increases the likelihood of having more and more people playing the game, who could give a frog's fart about winning... It is hard to believe so many people are so... so squishy about wining, losing or even competing.

I think they need to implement something akin to Ranked that requires certain stats to play. I know, I know, I despise stats. But WG has the stats for every player. They could do it anonymously... I dunno.. but OMG the ease with which people completely blow off winning and losing.... boggles my mind.

Maybe the incentives to winning a match must trump the individual rewards for simply showing up... something has to be changed or this game's just gonna turn into a big old brown patch of a pigpen.

I just had a match we could have won - but our Minotaur wouldn't help me engage the reds. We were the only two left. I did everything I could to get the player to help - but it made no difference. We COULD have WON that match. Five seconds to go in chat the player sends "I killed 3, got 123K dmg, go s*** a d***".

Their effort COULD have been a WHOLE lot better. But that ain't happening until their current mindset gets replaced. And there's no way, nothing here that's gonna change them. The die is cast - no excuse, no reason, nothing to justify not engaging the reds.

Indeed - this person's play could have been a whole lot better - had he engaged them.

I just finished a battle where both of our t9 BB's in a game ran and hid ASAP.  the rest of the team put up a credible fight but when your two most powerful ships just cower and do nothing, it's hard to win.  I've been getting garbage teams all night long.  These are the worst teams I have had in one short period of time than I have seen in all 7k games I have played.  The 38% wins I had yesterday is going to look good to my record for today.

I see your problem....

Unless you have over 200 secondary hits, you failed your team.

Yeah it's the growing problem in North American society where so many kids are raised to be selfish, disrespectful, unintelligent, and lazy. Even if you charged monthly subscription fees it would not change things since you would still have some of the same people playing, only difference is you actually might have fewer good players in game. The reason we see this behavior in games like this is it just applies people's personalities it seems so if a person is not so nice to begin with they will make others miserable in the game, but a good person will recognize they need to learn the game and try hard because they are responsible not only for their game, but others as well.

As far as the player who started this thread is concerned it's sad to say the bad players of these kind of games seem to not think equate game performance with how much HP you have lost probably because they can't manage to do anything without losing a ton of HP or even getting sunk. Or they stay out of fights after see others " stay out of fights and win" so then they try it and get little to no damage.

It's great if you can do high damage totals, help the team do well, and keep your HP up as well, that is the mark of a good player often. :)

I got my highest damage to date a couple nights ago in Bisy. Good ship. Oddly, Scharnhorst got my highest potential damage the same night, at 2.8 million. Good night, just not in the wins category.

This morning to evening I could not seem to win early and got it almost evened out at just under 50% by the time I wrote my original post.  Had like a 5 for 11 by then.  I wrote the post and then watched the really.  Got back into the game - won all 5 games since... ;)
