Post your Best Wins in a Battleship. (Fish) Stories encouraged!

So, I'll start this one off. I had an excellent game in my Alabama recently, one of those rare games which was both fun AND rewarding.

 

But the story behind this one is what makes it great. (As well as some of the worst torpedo targeting I have ever seen and an exhilarating bow-tank fight with an Amagi that ended much worse for him than it did for me.)

So, thanks to an epic push by my team on the C point, which included myself, and an epic stand by my team on the A point, we managed to pretty-much stall the enemy team, and we had a 1 battleship advantage by the time the enemy team broke through A and our team mopped-up C. Unfortunately, they had 2 points and we had one, so we were behind by a good margin in points.

Both teams eventually realized that victory would depend on who controlled B, currently occupied by the enemy.  And, now, I go into sportscaster mode:

>I finish the enemy Sims, who had previously utterly failed to torpedo the broadside of my ship from stealth.

>Our New Orleans enters B, followed by me.

>Our North Carolina dies, taking the second-to-last enemy battleship with him and leaving their NC on about half health.

>We capture B.

>An enemy Atago appears and starts shelling our New Orleans.

>I hit the Atago for a little damage, but concentrate on the enemy NC, taking a quarter of his health off.

>My ship goes to Brown Alert status as an enemy Mahan appears 5km away from me.

>Enemy Mahan slows down.

>Enemy Mahan pops smoke.

>No torpedoes.

>Around 10 seconds later, the Mahan's torpedoes appear.... completely off-target. One torpedo salvo went right by about 2 km, one left by about 2 km. My ship leaves Brown Alert status.

>I get set on fire.

>I take a decent portion of the Atago's health off to get him to stop shelling our NO. Atago is now at ~7k health.

>Enemy NC reloads and removes the last quarter of my health.

>New Orleans gets sunk by a torpedo.

>It's one NC versus an Atago and a Mahan, and we're still losing on points.

>Down to the last 45 seconds. The enemy has to cap B to win, we have to get one kill.

>NC spots the Atago in the same spot he was seen last time.

>NC misses the Atago due to dispersion, but the Mahan gets into B and lowers our point progress. Now, we have to kill the Atago.

>Last 10 seconds. The NC fires again.

>Shells travel.

>5

>1

>Right before 1 turns to 0, the first shell hits the Atago.... and citadels him.

My best game was sadly a Defeat. I ran out of time before I could finish off the last two ships, an almost dead Edinburgh and a full health New Mex.  

 

But I call surviving the battle and getting more base xp than any one on the winning team a Moral Victory.

Quite possibly the last good BB game I'll ever have if yesterday's games in my Warspite and about 99% of my BB games over the past four months are any indication.

My most recent 100k+ damage game, I had 7k hp left and was being shot by two BBs when the timer ran out.

Walked through the enemy team, absolutely devastating everything I came across on Trident. I did over 100% damage to the enemy Tirpitz and Colorado on my rampage, but the Colorado got secured. On the way I solo capped all three objectives, then killed the enemy CV as he tried to ram me. This was all on a 10 point captain which, at the time, meant no manual secondaries. No torpedoes were used, as they were destroyed almost immediately in the first round of engagement.

 

It was a good game.

Meanwhile in drifting my bismarck against 3 destroyers at 3km

Hunted the benson down with a dev strike at 6km, capped another cap and ran away to win by points.

First Alabama game over 100k. (13th game played,) on a map I generally dislike, (Trap.) Started in NW, went to C, and generally drifted down through B, slowly collecting damage.

This might have been in Co-op, but it was still satisfying as hell to silence the pair of Alabama fanboys who wouldn't shut up about how superior their 'Murican ship is to everything else.  Walked straight into the midst of the AI battleship pack and beat the stuffing out of them one-by-one.  They were all dead within 5 minutes of each other.
