CA/CL withstanding BB fire

Is there any CA/CL that can withstand BB fire ???

No Zao or Hinderberg. Because they are to obvious.

But any other CA/CL can withstand BB fire ???. (Also must be same tier)

While I don't own it, I can attest to the fact the Moskva can indeed bounce 9 16in shells from a Missouri at 3km from a 45 degree angle off the side...

Every single cruiser in this game is invincible against BB's. You just need a tall island between you and them.

Over the course of the game I've seen a lot of cruisers withstand fire from BBs.

Yeah, not exactly inaccurate, I've overpenned the citadel which negated the damage (and resulted in me getting torped to oblivion).

 

Actually bouncing though, I've seen Graf and Pensacola bounce shells from BB's the same tier or higher. Seems like right angle anything Russian can become impervious to all AP rounds.

Cruisers withstanding BB gunfire is an exceptional and circumstantial thing.

 

Moskva is one of the very rare few that can face tank a lot of BB gunfire, but the moment anyone looks at her sides, she drops quickly like someone getting hit by a sledgehammer to the knees.

 

Even "Battleship Hindenburg" gets the ever-living-sh*t citadeled out of her.

 

RN CLs are paper armored up and down the line and yield their citadels too easily.

 

You can bait BB gunfire to fire at you with ranges, angles not favorable to the BB.  You can land lots of hits in the process.  Just realize that all it takes is one solid salvo by the BB with RNG's blessing and you're done.

Cruisers can be great at avoiding fire, not withstanding it. Anything wiggling at 15 km and avoiding showing a flat side is a difficult target, and what shells hit will often overpen, bounce, or just not do much damage. Cruisers can withstand DDs and other cruisers with similar guns. A cruiser taking hits from BBs is making mistakes.

Moskva can angle to the point there is a high probability of bouncing shells. It's upper belt is 50mm so nothing can overmatch it's belt. Point your nose to a battleship and you run the risk of citadels through the nose. It's not battleship proof but if done right, with some luck you can bounce a lot. Moskva is probably the most battleship resistant cruiser.

That's not so true, as you can bounce shells with Myoko, Pensacola and Yorck at tier VII (the most unfavorable because they see 16 inch shells often). Light cruisers are almost all just big destroyers,so they are as fragile as DDs, exceptions being Cleveland and Kutuzov (Mogami too, but she is an odd one, even among odd ships). You need to use your rudder a lot, and try to not be focus-fired (even if it is 1 BB and 1 DD), it will always end badly.

From playing BBs and several cruiser lines.

 

USN cruisers = can bounce some stuff they see, but once they see 16" consistently, they can't bounce as much

IJN cruisers = can bounce most stuff they see when angled properly and also seem to take overpens a lot.  HOWEVER, show any broadside and you'll get nuked, which makes using most of the guns fairly hard due to layout

KM cruisers = can't bounce much until the Yorck. From the Yorck on, they are pretty tough ships with only the Yamato presenting issues.

VMF cruisers = Moskva, Budy and Chapy can bounce some incoming fire, all the other the others might as well not have armor

RN cruisers = can bounce some items, but generally need to rely on dodging instead of face tanking.

I feel like the only CA/CL in the game that can really stand a chance against BB fire, tier for tier, is the the Svietlana.

Moskva can, when angled properly, bounce even Yamato's 18.1 AP shell, and is notable as the only cruiser in the game that can do such.
