Niko could you please add a realistic gun firing/sounds mod?

This pack definitely could use it, some of those Gun mods are simply amazing sounding.

This is a pack of mods with probably 50 different mods in it. Probably why there's not a preview for every single one of them.

If so, then you folks can take the time to post the relevant details (links, screenshots, etc.) relative to the mods being used when you post your mod. That statement alone ought to be a rule of posing mods and stickied.

I'm not trying to tell you they should not include some sort of previews, but I'm telling you the most reasonable reason why they don't.

If you want mod previews, I'd recommend downloading them from the modders' page directly. Most of them have previews and explain what they do/how they look. Another option would be to get Aslain's or hakabase's (maybe there are others I don't know) modpacks. They have a nice preview implemented before you install anything. They may not have the "official" seal of WG, but they are in my opinion much better packs than this one. They most probably included all of this one's mods, and more!

Should WG's modpack include previews and such? Sure! But I don't see them doing it, considering it takes them more than a week to update it, when other modders have their updates up on patch day.

Something else to consider, the person who creates this pack, and several of the mods on it originate on the Russian server. So asking for things to be changed/done to it will not be seen by the person who needs to. Part of the reason why I prefer Aslains and Hakabase, they actually visit this server so if I have questions they can be dealt with (and they both have responded to me when I've found stuff)

I like using 3 mods out of this pack, The no fog, the angle indicator and the bigger team menu in game thingy. I like using the WG pack because it is official and the fact that the download services other packs and files use require me to turn off my adblocker or hijack my browser (have to close web browser with task manager) with the "you computer is infected, click here we'll help". I  know there are ways around this, I just don't want to deal with it. WG pack is the easiest/safest to get and use.

I play a lot, and waiting on this pack to come out is frustrating. My eyes don't work like they use to and I have a hard time seeing ships in the distance with the fog on. This mod, in particular, should be part of the game graphics options and not a mod IMHO.

If anything makes me quit this game (as silly as it sounds), it will be the waiting for this modpack to drop. It is beginning to be that aggravating to me and I can't be alone in this feeling. Please make it part of the update process and release it with the update.

I couldn't agree more.  I've gotten so accustomed to them that now it's a pain to run without them.  I try my best but it's just not the same.  All the other modders have updates out fairly fast but I haven't had much luck with their stuff.

Aslains pack is like 90% the same as this. In fact this modpack only has 2-5 major mods he doesnt .

Also Hakabase ALWAYS pdates his pack literally minutes after a patch and once more he is 90% the same for most players.

This is just tinfoil hat TBH. Aslain has been around so long in WOT/WOWS he basically is a "official" pack. As I said most these mods are literally the same as his, he just got them way before they did and updates his pack way faster.

The only thing ever to worry bout with him is if someone stole his modpack and somehow you were to blind to read him saying he was hacked etc. Basically there is as close to zero chance as it gets, receiving malware from aslain if you DL from his site every patch.

Also Aslain literally changed his links just for guys like you who couldnt do adfly or other link sites. He now has direct links, so go check it out.

I agree with what you're saying to an extent, however, there are way more people who have crashes and freezes using either of those packs but had no issues with the WG pack.  The difference is before WG publishes their pack they test it extensively whereas Aslan and Hakabe don't really test as extensively and rely on the playerbase to report an error.  But like me, many player's can't pinpoint the exact problem they are having with the mods.

#1 My statement wasn't a diss or an indictment of Aslain's or anybody's mod or modpack. It is more of a hedge against getting any kind of ban notice for using a mod, I can say "but it is WG offical pack" to customer support. Not a tinfoil hat, maybe a plastic wrap hat ;)

#2 Thanks for letting me know about the direct link, I haven't looked at any other modpack since 5.something and did not know this and since WG is really dropping the ball on their modpack I will take off my plastic wrap hat to give it a try

#3 While you were most likely not trying to be a jerk, you came across a bit rude IMHO. Tinfoil hat...jeez :P

Would be extremely helpful if you folks could get a copy onto the NA server itself. It appears to be located "over there" and not cooperating nicely for download purposes. Purtyplease?

Hey folks,

Well, I've pm'ed Niko and Wacko about this, but haven't had a response from either. With that said, I am trying to do a small video series (coupled with a write up) for new comers and the first video deals with enabling replays in World of Warships. Considering I do not use mods and run a vanilla client, I started there first, however I decided to download the "Official WG Mod-Pack" and incorporate it into the video as well seeing as a lot of people and even new comers use mods.

That's when I encountered a few problems. Not with getting the mod to work, but with my Anti-Virus (WebRoot). See, I have a subscription to WebRoot and being as paranoid as I am with my machine, I have my settings fairly locked down. So, when I saw "Trojan, etc. etc." pop up one night just as I clicked download and install, I freaked. Though I immediately dismissed that it was the mod-pack considering I trust WarGaming. I contacted WebRoot's Tech Support considering it's a 24/7 "never need to update" service and I raised some h-e double hockey sticks, not really, but I wanted to get to the bottom of how a Trojan could get on my machine, let alone and more importantly "where" it came from.

So I got scheduled for a remote access session with an advanced tech support specialist. For 2 hours this guy dug and dug, yielding nothing on my machine except some registry errors (common). Near the end of the session and right before we were going to hand up, it was at the point where the typical "well, **someone could have downloaded a file without you knowing**, type of thing". I told him that this is my machine and mine alone, I am pretty specific about what sites I go to, what I download ect. and I asked if he wouldn't mind if I walked him through exactly what I did that day when the Trojan popped up.

I come to this thread, I click download (still everything is fine), I scan the zip file with WebRoot, everything is fine (was told I didn't have to do that, but it's old habit) and it wasn't until I went to actually install the file that the bells and whistles went off. BAM, Trojan/Keylogger... **Note before I go further: He scanned the file numerous times in a collective database of over 60+ companies worldwide that these companies all use. It came back positive in only 2, WebRoot and 1 other that I cannot recall. So in other words, it was a False Positive...

 O6hyAlb.jpg

However, he noticed the link and checked that. Despite the file being ok, the link he stated was flagged as "untrustworthy" and without me asking or even suggesting, he submitted the link for a review and if it comes back as ok, then the status will be changed (which is good). He also went ahead and changed the status on the file within their system, but only did so for the files listed in this thread from 05/25/2017 and a couple before. Anything after "may" be flagged again as a Trojan.Keylogger, etc. He submitted the query to Brightcloud but is having them send the results to me for whatever reason, I guess to keep me updated.

 wcsc65o.jpg

Oddly enough the zip file goes where it should, but a single (.dll) file ends up going into a Temp Folder (at least on my machine it did) that holds a couple of TrueType Font Files and is completely separate of the entire zip. Why this is the case is beyond my scope of knowledge. He also mentioned that the new launcher with it's constant up time activity and how they may have coded it, "could" have something to do with it. Again, this is way out of my knowledge range.

All I wanted to do was make a stinkin video series and a write up for new comers to help alleviate some of the "where's this or that"/"how do I" threads.

Again though I did message both Niko and Wacko, but neither have replied. I know Wacko has read the message, though Niko hasn't read my last 2 or 3 pm's over the course of the last couple to three months.

tldr

File OK, but odd coding in areas. Reviewed by 60+ anti-virus companies

Link: Being reviewed by Brightcloud. Should be ok though considering the file was fine.

Niko and Wacko pm'ed about it.

Hope this helps some that may be having problems with either downloading/installing or using the mod pack as it could be anti-virus software related.

Has anyone heard any news on if there's going to be an update for this ModPack?
