Almost half gone. I didn't use the repair for fear of a torp hit.

 

I said Japanese BB got nerfed beyond playable, people laughed at me.

 

Oh well.

 

And did I mention I scored 2 direct AP hits on the DD, but somehow just 2000 some damage? Of course I didn't.

You can heal most of it back, that's what the [edited]on the Forums were telling you, smartass.

Here's a tip for those too stupid to realize it: that bit of grey on your healthbar is what can be healed back during one repair party. A USN battleship will suffer as much damage as an IJN battleship ignorant wretch as will a german, as will the damn warspite.

I always got destroyed by HEs. The burn is just ridiculous. Oh and IJN BBs are weak in almost every aspect.

Oh yea, and then you have BB HEs. What, you saw a DD and you immediately switch to HE and wait another 32 secs? Great, out of no where came a CA, batter you like a boss. You can't put him down quick because you are using HE so no citadel hits.

 

You can lit him up, right? Wrong. They can dish out waves after waves of shells and at best you can hit 3 or 4 per salvo, ain't no way you can light him up faster than he does to you.

You don't know the solution either. You are one of those people cowarding behidn DDs, CAs and other BBs when playing IJN, and look for ships with low HP.

Same tier. IJN front vs German broad side. Both full health. Guess which ship sunk after only 5 rounds of exchanging fire. Not the German one.

What I'm wondering is how you got all the way to Nagato and are just noticing this stuff now.

 

I mean, the whole how-to-counter-a-DD-in-a-BB took me a while to figure out when I was playing up through Kawachi, Myogi and Kongo, but by the time I had ground up through Kongo and got to Fuso, I was giving as good or better than as I was getting most of the time.  Not that I'm a Unicum BB player, but I certainly don't feel helpless against DD(s) when playing IJN BBs, or any other BB line for that matter.

 

I'd suggest watching some of the tutorial vids on how to play BBs by Community Contributors like iChase, Notser, and Flamu on Youtube.  You can learn a lot by watching how the Unicums handle a ship.  Flamu is a particular fan of the Fuso -- here's his Fuso guide to get you started.  It's from before the 6.2 Captain Skill changes so you'll have to extrapolate the build advice a bit, but the gameplay advice is still solid.

With the exception that Warspite can heal citadel damage, I believe.

I learned to RESPECT but not fear DDs in South Carolina and Wyoming... Been beating them up a decent amout of the time ever since.

 

Once PopeShizzle made it click in my head about how to deal with fires on battleships, I've been 'letting it burn,' srviving, and getting fireproof and dreadnaught awards ever since.

 

There is a bit of an art to using the things that help you deal with damage, but it is a LEARNED skill, and not that hard to do once you figure it out.
