7,954 [PVE] Taylor3006 [PVE] Members 12,105 posts 31,213 battles Report post #1 Posted April 1, 2017 I have a few thousand games in PvE, I stopped playing PvP maybe a month after starting playing the game. I was pretty annoyed by the nastiness in chat back then so just played Co-op mostly. Recently I started playing Randoms again, mainly to work on the campaigns. I was shocked by what I found. The people (for the most part) have been fantastic. Even the "red" teams have displayed an amazing amount of sportsmanship and the teams I have been fortunate enough to play with have been nice, helpful, and encouraging. The change is huge IMHO. Sure there is a bit of "saltiness" but nothing over the top like I saw so many months ago. I have no clue why things are different but I must say I have enjoyed it immensely. I still have to throw off the bad habits I learned in PvE (like charging!) and learn to shoot at the rear ends of ships (people in PvP like to run a lot) but for my fellow players, I just want to say thank you for being such a great group to play with again. I have missed killing you guys and being bitchslapped by you in return! For the players who have had the misfortune of having me on your team, thank you for being helpful and understanding when I go full potato, you have made my gaming experience absolutely everything I want in an online game. Yup, state of toxicity is really low in WoWs or maybe I have developed high tolerance over the years playing dote with russians. Anyways, WoWs seems like a friendly place to hang around. There's always going to be some of everything, everywhere. Need to remember that sweeping statements about a population are going to be generalized, as a necessity. Yep- I mostly remember the good parts though- I accidentally got a Danae killed stopping him right outside of the smoke and getting him killed by a Wyoming's shot, and when I apologized, he was apparently laughing too hard to be mad at me. there are many nice people in low tiers and the friendly banter almost everywhere outnumbers the unfriendly. We were winning in yet another landslide, wipeout match and the last guy left on the enemy team was a destroyer. You know that "YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE" announcement must have hit him...because he typed this into chat: "Oh hell. Man, I am the worst last hope. This sucks." I nearly spit my coffee all over the place. It's the big clans that are just awful. They're the toxic ones. You see them, you can expect a bunch of crap. To be fair, you can't paint all the members with the same brush. In WoT, I had a few guys from top clans willing to help me work on my game. They were pleasant, and didn't get flustered or lose patience when I screwed up games we platooned in. But there certainly are the type you refer to as well. We all got a kick out of it. Best game I ever played was that. It was me against 4 in my Budyonny. I heard the "YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE!" and just shook my head. One of my teammates jokingly typed in "You got this!" I said, "yea. sure. right." I pulled it off. Chat was just flooding like hell with them cheering me on the whole time. It was glorious. The AI's top ship scored higher then prolly the bottom 4 PLayer ships, with 2 players scoring 0. We killed 3 ships, I got 1, our top performing player a Tirp, got 1 and the #3 guy got one, I came in 2nd place, game spawned me on the edge, I had to drive around to many [edited]islands.... But yeah, people claim PVE is so easy, yet we have games like that one, where the AI basically faceplants the players, I didnt think the players could play worse then the AI, but voila, there it was.....that was embarrasing. So my Alabama now, 17 games in has 2 deaths and a loss.....so soon....damn......not even 20 games for the 1st loss...[edited]. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
