played them stock, so they do not have top of the line rudder shift time to begin with

use concealment for ognevoi,   acquisition module for kiev

tried both acceleration/ rudder shift boost module

 

acceleration get u very good backing up/ forward acceleration when u are going for island corner fight (2-4km)

rudder shift get u slightly better reaction to incoming torp

 

i really want both,   was told the acceleration on russian DD is good enough (its not good enough if u are trying to back up from 10kts to -10kts  or the other way)

 

maybe i should try using -40%rudder shift time module from the 5th slot + acceleration module (tried this setup on ARP takao and it feels like ninja new ship XD)

once i get 8km torp for kiev, i might stop going for close quarter fight

I was gonna keep Kiev because she has secondaries.

 

I actually got the 'Close Quarters' on the Kiev for a secondary kill.  It was a low health DD that -- surprised -- me when my turrets were turned the other way.

Ognevoi gets 10km torps and 7.7km concealment with no alteration...not sure if I should stay gunboating like I used to do or turn to torping (used the added captain while my best captain went to Kiev)...for some reason I shoot better in Ognevoi than in Kiev...

 

Maybe I should spec the Ognevoi guy for AA just for the heck of it...it comes with AFT anyway...

Steering Gears Mod 3 for Kiev, personally. It allows you to throw that ship around like a boss, which really helps you be an annoying aggro magnet for your team.

I only have a 14 point commander on her now but I'm thinking this for a torp centric Ognevoi

Why not both?

 

The Ognevoi is the new gem of the line, I'm calling it. I love playing it. Thank you for useable torpedoes and decent stealth!!!!!!!!!
