Want to see what people think about commander specs for these two ships.

My Gnevy has - Prev Maint, Last Stand, BFT, and AFT

My Ognevoi has - nothing assigned yet.

Also, what upgrades should I consider for them?

Aiming System vs AA?

Steering gears vs Damage Control?

Concealment vs Steering Gears 3 (Ognevoi)?

Thanks in advance.

What do you want to achieve? You want to improve AA? go for AA then. You want better rudder with crap concealment? go for rudder then.

Here's how I would equip an Ogenvoi and Gnevny.  For consumables, make sure you take a premium version of your Damage Control Party and Smoke Generator.  You can skip spending the extra credits on her Engine Boost, it's far more situational.  But if you don't like money, go for it.

For modules, assuming you don't have access to the limited run of *SPECIAL* modules:

  • In your first slot, take Magazine Modification 1.  You're a destroyer.  You're going to detonate a lot.  If you don't mind horrendous kablooies or if you're going to be using these destroyers in a competitive environment and plan on running with the Juliet Charlie signal all of the time, take Main Armaments Modification 1 to help keep your weapons from being temporarily knocked out.
  • In your second slot, Aiming Systems Modification 1 is arguably the best choice, but it really doesn't provide much advantage to destroyers which have very little dispersion anyway.  Seriously, you're looking at about a 7m difference at maximum range with this module.  I'd take it only because the AA values on these ships is pretty bad anyway and you'll want to leave them off.
  • For your third slot, take whatever you want.  They're all awful.
  • In your fourth slot, Propulsion Modification 2 is probably the most handy -- especially if you find yourself sitting in smoke often.  Otherwise, Steering Gears Modification 2 isn't terrible.
  • And for Ognevoi, take Concealment Modification 1 for your 5th slot.  Cause you're a destroyer.  Get sneaky.

For Captain Skills, I would use the following build for both ships:  http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000000000100001000010100000100119.  This gives you the following:

  • As you're not going to be able to stealth fire as often as you want, Priority Target will let you know when you can safely keep shooting and when you need to cease fire, go evasive and drop back into concealment.
  • For your next skill, grab Last Stand.  You're a destroyer.  Your engine and rudder will be shot out often, even by near misses.
  • I would grab Demolition Expert next.  This will bump your fire chance up to 10% per shell which is pretty awesome.
  • And finally, at tier 4, grab Concealment Expert.  Stealth is life for a Destroyer.
  • You should next save up for Advanced Fire Training, the second tier 4 skill.  This will extend your reach and make gunnery a lot more comfortable.
  • Then you can hop down to tier 3 and grab Basic Fire Training to increase your rate of fire.
  • And then lastly, for a nice bit of comfort, you can take Expert Marksman to help mitigate that awful turret rotation speed.

If you want, you can swap out Basic Fire Training and Expert Marksman for skills of your choice, but these two are arguably the most effective for these vessels.

I use Expert Marksman on my Gnevny to make the turret traverse more bearable.

Now, the Ognevoi is interesting now since she is the torpedo boat of the line. I would have PM, Last Stand for the first two. The T3 skills can either be TAE, BFT, or DE. I would take CE for the first T4 skill, followed by AFT.

For anything T8 and up, I go for the Concealment mod.

Wouldn't EM be useless on the Ognevoi since she gets the B-2-Us?

Ognevoi max concealment: 6.05km

Ognevoi max torp reload speed: 62.1s

Thank you for the recommendations.  This is exactly what I was looking for.
