Gnevny (V) Permanent Camouflage and patch 0.6.2

So, in the patch notes, there is an area about compensation for permanent camo's on the Russian DD's. The part I want to talk about reads as follows:

 

"If you purchased a permanent camouflage for Gnevny (tier V) before the update released, this camouflage will be removed from your account; permanent camouflages for Gnevny (tier VI) and Podvoisky (tier V) will be added to your account as replacements"

 

But, when I log in to the game and look on my Gnevny, there is no permanent camo to purchase. Am I missing something?

I think the Gnevny was one of the ships you could get the candycane camo on (a long time ago) before the actual perma camos even existed (along with Minekaze, Nurnburg and Cleveland).

Yep, Gnevny has a holiday camo. It's painfully ugly, but it does exist.

IIRC it was available for a limited time over New Year 2015/16 (along with the Cleveland, Minekaze, Nurnberg)

Ok. It was driving me nuts. I knew I was missing something. I bought some of the premium camo's for the others in the DD line since it will add it to the new ships for free (Pretty sweet discounts if you think about it).

When the IJN DD line split, WG made a "mistake" and doubled up Premium camo on some ships.  IOW they out it on old and new ships.  Then one morning a series of "Premium camouflage removed" notifications popped up. 

 

Bottom line: Gnevny must be a special case. I'm assuming that Premium camouflage will stay with the Tier, not the ship. Actually hadn't thought about that. I think Udaloi and Kiev are the only 2 I have Premium camo on. We'll see in the morning. 

 

Patch notes clearly say permanent camo on both ships!  Yay!

I actually bought the Tashkent premium camo (3k doubloons) since its moving to tier IX. It will most likely jump up another 1k doubloons in cost in that case. I had Kiev's already, so my Minsk gets free premium camo. I grabbed the one for Ognevoi for 1k, which means it will have it at tier 8 (which will probably cost 3k doubloons), and the new Gnevny tier 6 will get one for free. I spent 4k doubloons (previously purchased Kiev tier 7 at 2k) in the last day or two, but in the end it will save me about 7k doubloons if I did the math right.

Gnevny holiday camo is hideous. I actually had the same camo on Cleveland but when they added a further premium camo for that ship I got it...fast. Then again I play the Cleveland more than Gnevny. As for the VMF DD's, I made sure I had them all; only had to re-buy a few, except for Trashkent. Nothing can induce me to re-purchase that one. However, I forgot to buy the camo for a select few. I am out of state. Just wish there was some way I could get them before the patch. This all brings me around, finally, to my point. WG should have an app for mobile phones where you can look at your ships and tanks, ok even planes too, where you can look at the camo, captain, crew(wot), modules etc.

Hilariously enough, because I had the Ognevoi tier 6 camo, you get the candy stripe camo for the Gnevny.

 

I did buy the one for the Tashkent, because with the heal she may be more viable in her support role.

Hello, If I am not mistaken the candy cane camo is listed with no price. Just select it, and check enable. At least  that was how I found it on my screen. Good luck
