Enough is enough with these "upgrade" modules.

Upgrade Modules in Super Containers

81 members have voted

  1. 1. Should upgrade modules in super containers be left as is, removed from super containers entirely, or left as a reward but have added value in the form of (an) additional reward(s)?

    • Leave them as is.

    • Remove them from super containers.

Receiving a single upgrade module from a super container is hardly on par with receiving regular rewards from any other crate. It's a slap in the face and ought to be changed. Getting this rubbish sure does take the "super" out of the container.

Yep, I had no complaints over the fact I had a chance to get 250 Sierra Mike flags in a SC. Quite possibly the most universally useful flag, and also one of the most difficult to obtain.

I have yet to actually get one of the new modules in a SC, but I do know that I'd rather have the chance at the flags than a chance at the modules.

You forgot a couple options:

  • Just give me bacon
  • More special module upgrades in future, but this time have some that'll be useful to the variety of playstyles.

Wouldn't mind dropping aiming systems module if I could get one, for example, that decreases MB reload time by 10%. Gunboat DDs would jump on this since their MB has excellent base accuracy anyway, T9-10 BBs can stack the MBM3 for about 22% less reload (about 5-7 seconds shaved off!). This could also be stacked with LS skill in cruisers.

Though of course, if SC have desirable upgrades and useless ones, we can expect crying on forums about how I need this special upgrade and instead get this worthless one.

I'm tearing the place up with that 'Spotter Mod'.

I'd like to buy more,. but they only come in Super Containers.

Hope I get another one.

got a speed boost module from rank-9 and put it on my Khabarovsk.  Got a smoke generator2 from a supercontainer... and doubt ill ever use it because its the second upgrade slot... you cant give up guns for a smoke adjuster.

They've only put them in the supercontainers so later they can take them back out and say "happy now?", while the playerbase is left with exactly what they started.

You need to go through your ships to figure it out.  Spotter Mod goes on Russian Cruisers.

Giving up guns?  hmmmm...  IJN Destroyers are already there (except Akizuki).

Don't approach this topic so one dimensionally. I'm not asking for them to be removed from the game or availability, I want something done about them being the only thing you receive when you get one from a super container. They're so bad that the majority of them are immediate sell material and the credit value on them is rubbish.

I'm pretty sure you can still get like large amounts of credits and free XP and the occasional really nice thing (doubloons, ships)... it's just that the upgrades are going to be as common as the 250 flags were in the past.

I would rather get a dozen flags from a normal crate than one of these useless upgrades. It's bad enough that I am earning them in ranked instead of flags like previous seasons,

Can you get more than one of the same "special upgrade", or just one of each?

If you can get only one of each, then at some point you'll get them all and they wont drop again.

EDIT: If that is so then selling them is kinda shooting yourself in the foot.

WG must troll the player base, it's in their contract.....

The removed the 250 flags, which seemed to always be the most useless ones available, so this is the troll replacement.....:teethhappy:

:teethhappy: You must be having a hard time understanding me. I didn't say it's the only thing you get from super containers, I said when you do get one, it's the only thing you get in that container. I thought it was pretty clear, anyway.:amazed:

Remove them. It truly renders the supercontainer a kick in the crotch when you receive one of these misfit toys. It's like opening your big present on Christmas to discover a rat's nest.

I will argue that not every module upgrade is useless.

For example: my Leberecht Maass has the Hydro and the engine boost upgrades. Now I get 3 minutes of being able to run away fast and nearly 2 minutes of hydro to hunt DDs in smoke with.

Granted, I see no way of really sacrificing the setups on my Z-52 for these upgrades, but they aren't really useless

I would rather the 250 flags, too, although we pretty much know based on WG feedback that those aren't coming back since they want to lower the number of flags in circulation. I can agree that they're not all useless but that still doesn't make them worthy of being the only reward you get when you open one in a super container.

I got three 250 Sierra mike supercontainers. I don't know what you're talking about.

IJN smoke is already laughably short, reducing its duration to build a larger screen doesn't sound like a good trade-off to me. The only ships I can see that as useful on are RN cruisers, to give a little more flexibility in establishing smoke, but again, not sure that it's worth reducing the duration.

That doesn't mean it's a good candidate for the smoke mod, though. :)

You are comparing horse manure to cow manure and debating which one smells worse.
