In other words—"As soon as I round this corner, I can begin capping OHMYGODIOWA!" *Dead* I Was very aware he was there lol. Moved up from the south to kill a Missouri, Yamato on my team nuked him before i fired. Move up further to get a half health New Orleans, Bismarck got him. Saw the Monty sitting in the channel thinking he was safe, said "F**k it" and got rewarded with perhaps the funniest kill i have had in this game so far lol. Eh, I'm speaking from the experience of thinking the channel was clear while in an Atago, and moving in for the cap. As you might be able to guess, surprise Iowa! I got nuked. A very underrated ship, hopefully we do see its Citadel lowered, will just make it even better.

Agreed: while the Iowa and Missouri have a huge speed advantage and stupidly-good stealth, Montana is neither faster nor much more stealthy than either of the other T10 BBs. It's a lot harder to work around that high citadel when tanking hits and not maneuvering to where you can't be shot at in the first place is more how the ship plays. I think Flamu in one of his vids on Montana was thinking improving Montana's handling would help just as much. A major weakness for every Tier IX+ BB is poor handling. What if Monty handled closer to the Tier VIII's?

A major weakness for every Tier IX+ BB is poor handling. What if Monty handled closer to the Tier VIII's? Why bother? She's longer than Yamato with about the same width - I don't agree on the longer rudder shift, but it's not so much longer as to be of any real consequence. If anything it's amazing that WG so blatantly discarded Yamato's historical handling rather than how they nerfed Montana's: sure, it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now historically or even originally, but it wasn't Yamato's 680m historical turning circle either, not even close. Right now her primary deficiency is survivability: she has the accuracy and DPM to outgun a GK in a ranged gun duel, but whereas you can't citadel the German until past 15km unless some weird stuff happens, you'd be lucky to survive a salvo without taking a citadel hit at any angle from which you can fire all 4 turrets, not to mention that Kurfurst has almost 10000 extra HP on you. You won't last long enough for the DPM and accuracy gap to show themselves to the fullest. Likewise if you're up close against a Yamato where you should be, one can still citadel you from the front for instant death unless you're one of those few people who's learned and mastered how to angle the ship at precisely the right position to show both the transverse bulkhead and the main armor belt at autobounce angles (or be able to switch between them without much rudder input). I'm not of the school of thought that thinks such an ability is OP, given Yamato's citadel layout, the problem is Montana's flaw is much more exploitable when, from both a balance and logical standpoint, it shouldn't be.
