Uh the flags do go away, but if you get the flags you get a new flag showing what you did for the ranked season.

 

The special rewards for rank 10-5 are useful and if you dont want them each is worth 625k

 

Its fun, you learn more and can seriously get better and rock in in random games.

 

I do not recommend playing ranked for hours and hours - you will get frustrated and you should take it on on the people in Random fights by killing them repeatedly. So go play your other ships that do not match the seasons tier set up.

 

Which by the way it changes each season. This season it is tier 7. Previous seasons had a mixed, a tier 8 etc. They change it up.

 

Im stuck between rank 8-10, but I learned a ton again this season. Just played 3 random games and got over 140k damage, 2 krakens and 2 games with 7 kills. I did it before but not back to back like that.

 

Plenty of reasons to play ranked, first and foremost you learn to play better. So long as people on your team are helpful and not [edited]Canoes.

I didn't watch the vid, but I figure it's the same I hear every season.

 

Ranked is a pain in the azz for sure, however following the advice many have posted can make things better.

 

I ranked out with 188 battles with a 59.04 (nothing special) WR. I didn't play every day and each session I didn't do many battles. I chose different times/days and found certain ones were better than others.

 

Ranked has little to with skill, but a whole lot to do with determination. I am interested in the Black atm, that is the only reason I completed this season.

Once again someone missing the point of ranked. This is a game mode for bragging rights and can be fun and yes can make you break a keyboard like I did last week. But hey, I love the competition and there are people in my Fleet on Team Speak, that we have are own little competition, to see who can get the highest rank even if we dont reach lvl 1. Now you have to have time investment to play, you cant sit down and win 20 games in a row, some of us do have jobs but still on a weekend plan on investing 20 games maybe or more to move up a rank or two depending on your skills. 

 

Anyways to cut this short, ranked makes you a better player in my opinion. It forces you to try harder and work as a team and learn from your mistakes. It can be a lot of fun if you are winning but if not either dont play or take a break and play Battlefeild 1 and get head shots

OK, That was actually pretty funny by the OP. Yea, I punished myself by going to Rank 10 (especially bad on weekend play) but he raises valid points. There's no solid incentive here for regular, especially long time, players to bother with this.  The gap between ranks 11 and 1 is ridiculously too big; as its far too common to eat a dozen game loss streak, especially in one ship or one tier.  I get what they were advertising - but what they (WG) was really doing was milking their tier 7 premies for all they could. Good business mood, not so good customer retention move.

Jolly Roger doesn't go away, you get the signals of ranks you have already passed on your first win, Flint is the Atlanta (with better torpedoes, better AA, and smoke instead of radar). If you're going to go through the trouble of making a video; at least get your facts right.

1. The Jolly Roger has ZERO benefit. So, no reason to run it

2. The Flint is better, but all I have to do is play an Atlanta correctly and help my DD's and I can have just as good of games

 

PS: Even the USS Black is a Fletcher with nurfed torps and radar that is about as useless as Yo-Lang Hydro is. I'd rather just play my Fletcher with permanent cammo and have better torps. I don't need radar in the Fletcher.

 

So, in essence, outside of the free premium ships (that really are not that much better than other premiums or tech tree ships) and some gold, there is little to no reason to play this mode. Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's the way it looks from my point of view. Random games are frustrating enough. These rewards simply are not worth putting up with total potato play in a mode where i am busting my butt to carry or do my absolute best in every single time.

Ranked is basically WGs version of a competitive GM without actually having to do Clan Wars or anything else like that. The rewards this time around are pretty good from Ranks 21-10, but the rest of the rewards are just kinda meh

This ranked season is HORRIBLE!!! Same number of ships, same smoke radar Meta and im certinly guilty of that, but thats how you have to play it, and playing the circle ring caps over and over is a bit much , lost interest at 10 and got bored hopefully next rank is a bit more interesting

I would agree to that, especially since right now WOWS refuses to show player ranks until after a battle - which is quite a hindrance.

I truly do not understand how you get out of bed. I mean, where is the reward for you? The WHOLE game is technically a waste of your time. If you don't like games with random teammates, may I suggest solitaire? Ranked matches are there for people to demonstrate their ability to alter their play style to the situation. If you're already frustrated with random matches, no amount of pixels are going to make you enjoy your time. I have to wonder how you enjoy what I can only see as trolling.
