Broken up-tiering?

I've seen this twice now.

 

I'm in Gneis. I go into randoms. Get in queue. Team screen pops up. Look down the list. Gneis, colo, texas...usual ships then....WYOMING?

 

Since when do T4's get uptiered into games with T7's? I don't recall seeing any patch notes about it, and it certainly doesn't seem fair. The Wyoming's got ripped apart. And so far I've only seen this happen with the Wyoming. I haven't seen any other T4 ship getting thrown in with T7 ships.

 

Anyone else seeing this?

Never tier up Tier 4 with Tier 5. Never goes well.

Yup- saw a Danae in my Belfast the other day. Citadel with HE then I figured it was too easy and looked for a more dangerous target.

Think it Divisions, doesnt happen often , few weeks ago saw a V Omaha in with Vlll ... didn't turn out well

Well, a single tier difference really isn't a fail division but this is the most likely reason. However, depending on the time of day and how many are in the que the MM some times gets desperate to create a match and will go outside the normal range.

I'm personally just happy tier 1s aren't getting into tier 10 anymore.

Sometime people new to T5 hop into a div along with their T4 friends not knowing the T5 MM rules.

 

I have seen quite a few divisions like that complaining that T5s "are not supposed to be seeing T7s at all".

Remember way back in alpha when divisioning a tier 1 with a 10 would often drag the 10 down to a tier 1 match? Fun times.

That was before my time  I was in the very last wave that only consisted of 2 or 3 people.

Fail Divisions.  Nothing like seeing a Tier VI ship dragging their buddy sailing a Tier V Omaha / Murmansk into a Tier VIII battle.  Hilarity ensues.

It used to be worse, there's Division restrictions now of +/-1 tier max.  Before?  No.  You'd see stupid stuff like a Tenryu at a high tier match.  People on that team would get mad a.f.
