POST A SCREENSHOT! Please. People have been wanting to prove or disprove this one forever. It's kinda the holy grail of bugs and game quirks.

As others have said, I'm sure you have a replay...right?  Because the developers have come right out and stated that Juliet Charlie will never allow you to detonate, ever.  Without some sort of proof (which nobody has ever been able to provide), it's easier to assume that you either thought you had the flag equipped but did not, or that you were killed by a devastating strike, not an actual detonation.

Screenshots or a replay are your friend. Many people have claimed this had happened to them, yet the replay disproves it or they can provide no proof.

And I really wish people would stop asking for screen shots and replays when the game doesn't support replays without using a mod and there's no way in hell you can screen shot it the instant it happens.

Its not a mod. You literally just have to alter one line of code in a file. You can do it Manually. Also, there is plenty of time to get a screen shot with the detonation 'award' visible and before your ship sinks.

Just because you blow up instantly does not mean that you were detonated. The enemy could have gotten a devastating strike on you. Did "detonated" pop up in the chat window when it happened?

Yes this is true. But he has not stated whether or not he saw that. A lot of times people don't pay attention to what it says in the chat box then say they got detonated and have proof. Then come here and post their "proof" and all it does is proof them wrong because it says devastating strike in chat and not detonation.

Lol, replays are not a mod. It's just a setting changed in the file, using the "mod" just changes the setting for you. 

 

The only way I am aware is if you are running the flag that gives you a 5% chance to detonation. 

 

 

Sub_Octavian has said that Juliet Charlie completely overrides all other modifiers and brings the detonation chance to 0.

Doesnt require a mod, all you do is add a couple of lines to the config file in game and it stays forever, and you can SS post battle to show a detonation award if you were detonated. No proof = Not a detonation.

That wasn't a detonation. You were hit by a torpedo that killed you instantly. Devastating strike=/=detonation. My guess is that an IJN DD punched your number. 

 

You would have been awarded with the words "Detonation" in chat had that actually been one. No, you were just the unfortunate victim of a torpedo alpha strike.
