I just got one from the super container (meh)      Which DD do you think is the best one to put on ?  it increases the  release time while reducing the overall smoke duration.  I am thinking it would be best in US DD.   (may be sims  since I play it daily)   what you all think.

Perth is basically what that's made for.

Don't use it on any DD as it lowers the total duration (emission + active time).

The only ship this is useful on is the Perth.

In terms of destroyer, Fletcher or Gearing. However I would not use it on either of those ships, since a big part of US smoke is the already lengthy duration and deployment time.

I wouldn't use it on any destroyer. I don't know if you can use them on RN CLs, but those are the only ships I would take it on.

I am using it on my Udaloi atm. I can create a bigger smoke screen for my fleet, which can be succesful for a retreat or an attack.

I don't think the shorter duration really matters, because a smoke cloud that still lasts more then one minute is sufficient enough to cause some panic. The more ships I can get in that cloud, the more panic I can cause :)

The reduced duration may not sound like a long time, but it easily could be 1 more salvo from safety for a BB or 2-3 for a cruiser.

Another thing that just occurred to me is that your teammates won't know that you have shorter smoke than normal. I sort of sense when a smoke cloud will fade if I saw it created. With this mod on a Teammate's ship, I could screw up and assume I could use their smoke longer than it will actually last.

Wish I'd bought the Perth.

It could be 1 more salvo from safety for a BB or 2-3 for a cruiser indeed, but it could also be an extra ship that I smoke up. It shouldnt matter for teammates that it lasts shorter, unless you position yourself broadside into a smoke cloud (assuming it is some kind of safehouse), which is a not so smart thing to do...

Besides a shorter duration will mean that the push doesn't slow down too much, which is another good thing.
