tripitz was the recipient of a torpedo that i sent and he got in between.  that was that....but no i started getting warnings about causing damage and I wasn't doing anything then of course the penalty. We were not within 5K of each other. I have been pink b 4 but usually deserved them

Do you have to post-battle results screen with the damage done to individual ships? That might help you get to the bottom of it.

Also, flooding. There Pope. Now I'm the first one to have mentioned it. You did this to yourself....

if you were getting continuous warnings, your torpedo made him flood and he couldn't repair it. The flood damage tick was giving you warnings.

The repeated warning you got was due to his flooding damage. if you flood or catch a team mate on fire, all damage done goes to you, hence the warnings...

Sounds like you caused flooding and they didn't/couldn't repair it right away.

Your torp cause flooding to him and the damage he sustains is multiplied and applied to you.  Clearly you deserved it this time, too.

Hmm, since nobody has mentioned it, I'm pretty sure your torpedo caused flooding, which counts as additional friendly fire damage.  Can't believe there have been so many replies and I am the FIRST one to come up with this...

you torped him, you caused flooding, he didn't/couldn't repair it, you became pink, you deserved it.

If i get hit by a friendly torp that causes flooding I might or might not repair it depending on my mood because the person deserves to be pink for making the stupid decision to launch torps where it can hit a friendly!

Launching torpedo from behind a freindly.....

What a stupid thing to do....

Not being able to hit the enemy ship with torpedo from 5+ km out.....shouldn't be playing torpedo ship.

Causing continual flooding to friendly ship and gets just reward....

Complaining on forums about a disciplinary action, a violation of EULA....means we cant8read either....

Just something I heard. I could be way off base.

Beyond 10km usually you're not responsible for what your torp hits.

Within 4km it's your fault.

5-9.9km it tends to be victim and you both at fault.

Had a similar thing yesterday in my Hosho. TB to take out a DD that was near me, accidentally hit a Nassau, apologized, but that jerk let the flooding damage stack up, turn me pink, and annihilate me. I was really pissed cause I had apologized right off the bat. The flooding did so much damage I scored pink for 15 battles total.

[sigh] Working it off today.

Flooding damage, probably. A lot of players will ignore a flood or fire out of spite.

Or because the repair party is down.

You're always responsible for what your torpedo hits. Every. Single. Time.

ill never say it was my fault if those torps are over 8-10 km out, im not a mind reader, i cant tell if a teammate is gonna be there like 2-3 minutes from when i launch torps, so no, if its 8-10 km out or more, im not taking responsibility for it hitting a teammate, especially if i gave a warning in chat

i find that "team mates"  will try to steal a kill from u by turning between u n the target and sending his own torps.  I guess every game has its ,  well I will just leave it that

After the torp's been in water for longer than 30 seconds, assuming intent was at red and no greens presumably able to get hit, not usually my fault if it hits a teammate. Otherwise, I take responsibility.

Since it's a friendly torp, it's marked white and visible. Only inattentive players will miss it if it was in water for a while.
