Benson AR or BFT

    Hi, what would be better to take on a Benson Captain that will eventually be moving to the Fletcher. Adrenaline Rush for faster reloads of gun/ torps. Or Basic Firing Training for the faster gun reload, and the +20 to AA. Does anyone use both? Most of the time I am running around on half heath or less after contesting caps in beginning of the game, so AR looks good with the faster torp reload. But with higher tier aircraft the Fletcher encounters, BFT with the +20 to AA looks good also. Or am I totally off the mark on this. It would be nice to hear your opinions. Thanks in advance!

Every destroyer Captain if not every Captain I have has AR.  Each persons preferential build will differ.  Personally, I have three American destroyer Captains and only one has BFT.  I prefer DE, TRE, & Vigilance.

I would go for Adrenaline Rush over BFT on Benson. The main gun reload is already pretty good, but the torp reload is pretty slow. AR helps with that as well. I've even run the torp reload skill on my Benson when respeccing skills was on discount.

 

As mentioned above, I think I run AR on every one of my USN DD's. I think I might be running BFT on the Fletcher only.

Definitely not AR. You already fire very fast. You wants skills that increase your survivability.


 

Only thing I would change here is PT instead of PM. I want to know if guns are pointed at me. And I would get DE instead of BFT.

If you have SE on the Benson I would get AR. Otheriwse, BFT. 

 

SE&AR is one of my favorite perk combos, but it only works effectively for tier 8+ (which the Benson is).

I don't use PT on any of my DD's.  Pretty safe to assume that if you're a DD and you're detected that most/all guns in range will be pointing your way.

Thanks for the reply's. Sorry, I should of listed what skill I already have.

1) Preventive Maintenance

2) Last stand

3) Suriviability Expert

4) Concealment Expert

I have 3 points left, and was having trouble deciding where to put them. Looks like AR seems to be the way to go right now, I can always respec if need be. Still new to the Benson, I think I only have 15 games in her. Sort of a little scary up in the higher tiers with the bigger ships, and better players. This is my first tier 8. Thanks again for the reply's.

I would put in a suggestion for Superintendent with those 3 points. Your smoke is excellent, and if you ever intend on playing Benson in ranked (if it comes back to T8), you will want SI.

Hi, I always run Smoke Generator 2 under Ammo and Consumables. This gives me 3 smokes, If I get Superintendent, and use the Smoke Gen 2 do you get 4 smoke charges?

BFT is only worth it if you intend on running the C Hull with Defensive Fire and playing the Benson as an AA support ship. Otherwise, AR is the better option.
