Baltimore, When WG Adjusts Correctly

Played a game and enjoyed it in a Baltimore, ikr right, RoF is much improved and to the point that it is noticeable. 

 

Then I looked at the 25 Game Two Week Leaderboard, lol. Lol. Baltimore OP, numbers are up significantly.

 

 

Thank you WG for finally adjusting Baltimore, took for [edited]ever, but thank you none the less.

 

Now to get Pensa back and try her out.

I quit the USN CA line and CAs in general at the New Orleans. CAs just don't fit my play style. DDs do

Played the Penny back on the PTR when they made the adjustments, she seemed pretty solid. Though not the battleship some players want, but certainly not in the state she was. I think they put the right wrenches to the correct nuts and bolts with the USN CA's this time. The New O. seems a bit more solid despite the "on paper" changes, so it may just be in my head or a hidden stat thing.

She has earned a spot in my fleet, with her special camo. . As for Pensacola.....you'll love her. Great improvement in her concealment.

Only nitpick is the base range on Baltimore. Other than that, she's finally turned the corner. Long overdue buff.

I haven't used my Baltimore again but she's in my port with permacamo.  I intend to get a captain stuffed into her but not sure when.

 

Baltimore is still performing the worst in WR% and Dmg average of all Tier IX Cruisers.  But I do note her Dmg avg has increased from roughly 34k to now 41k.  I used to deride Baltimore for doing as much dmg as only a Tier VI Cruiser.  A 7k improvement in Dmg avg is very significant in this game.  The next lowest Dmg avg Tier IX Cruiser is Roon at 48k.  Neptune and D.Donskoi are tops with 55k average but the WR% for Tier IX Cruisers is actually very close.

Exactly this. Baltimore has recieved a -33% to her reload time, and her average damage has increased 21% (average) as a result. That's quite substantial. I never thought of the Baltimore as weak, but currently she's appearing to be one of the strongest IX cruisers in the game.

Her AP is stupid good, HE usable and now you can actually kill a DD within Radar time. Still has a better armor arraignment than Des Moines, or feels that way imo.

DM is slightly better armored than a Minotaur.  Hard to tell the difference when shooting at either

Baltimore has the same armor as DM, but vastly smaller citadel space. Basically Cleveland style. Midship it's water level, fore and aft are so low you'll never hit it.

I looked it up.  Wow.

From the last 2 weeks, 19 games (11 of which were solo), 127.1k dmg avg, 68.42 WR%, WTR of 3064   The guy is a great player overall, though.  He was even at the top even for "All" time period on Baltimore.

Baltimore is now considerably stronger than Ibuki. She has significantly better armor, better AA, sets more fires/min with HE, has stupidly good AP, has a better gun layout, has detection range on par with Ibuki, and of course has radar. She's definitely one of the strongest T9 cruisers now.

Hey guys bit random question, but i'd like some insight. I can research, with my free XP, either the baltimore or the neptune. Which do you guys recommend over eachother? I enjoy the playstyle of both US and RN Ca's. Thanks

If you like both styles then you'll probably like either t9 ship.  So why not look a step further and ask yourself which t10 ship you want more, the Minotaur or the DM?

Well seeing as both tier 10 ships seem like very similar upgrades to their T9 counterparts, I suppose that's also another question for ya! Which do you think would be wiser?

I thought the NO was fine before, one of my best ships.

 

Baltimore was a slug, happy with the changes.

yeah, it's pretty good with the buffs.

For one, it can actually shove DDs off of caps now.

 

Although, it's supposed to be just as squishy from before the buff, so I don't understand why BBs don't shoot Baltimores anymore.
