What's your favorite Heroic Achievement?

As of now I have 12 Confederate, 35 Dreadnought, 17 High Caliber, 4 Kraken, one Witherer and like many others a big 0 for Solo Warrior awards.

 

 I never used to keep track of such things until the Science of Victory campaign had mission tasks that asked for specific achievements or any where from 1 to 3 of any of them.

 

They all come with a nice set of signal flags but the only one I've become good enough at to intentionally start a game to farm the flags are the India Deltas from the Dreadnought. If there's one skill I'm good at in the game it's getting myself shot full of holes. The trick is to always have an exit strategy in place for that moment in the game when you go from a I'm going to whack you with my sword brawler to a background sniper. With the Superintendent captain skill and premium repair party consumable giving you 4 or 5 repairs except for a second set of guns you're practically taking 2 ships into battle.

 

Confederate and High Calibers often go hand in hand with each other or along with the Dreadnoughts and Krakens. They are highly dependent though on large parts of the enemy fleet exposing themselves to your guns.

 

Just like your first love I'm sure many players remember their first Kraken. I've told the story of my first before so I'll not repeat it again. Now that I have 4 of them I've noticed a change in my game play. Whenever I get 3 kills my targeting priorities go from danger to me>danger to the team>it's an easy kill to looking for the easy kills first. At least I haven't stooped so low as to ask the rest of the team to let me have the last kill for a Kraken.

 

You wouldn't think that Witherer would be so hard to get. With both bombs and torps CVs are a natural candidate for trying to get it and I got my one and only with the Hiryu. My next challenge will be to get one with a non CV ship. I'm thinking my M.Kutuzov with both a good set of torps and fire spitting guns might do the trick.

Only Witherer I've gotten was in the Kiev. 3 blundering Izumos that ignored me for 5 minutes.

Solo Warrior, very hard to get for me.  I have 5,965 Battles and only 2 Solo Warriors awarded.  The requirements are hardcore just to be put in the scenario to work on it, much less actually pulling it off.

Having an enemy DD shout Bonsai in general chat and ram my full health BB and do next to no damage just makes me all warm inside.

Witherer's actually pretty easy to get in the Kutuzov—Just cycle your targets and hit the one's that have just burned DC. And then watch as the damage numbers and salt start flowing in. I have 11, though some are from IJN CL's like the Atago and Ibuki.

 

Personally, still working on Solo Warrior. I have a bad propensity to choke in the worst possible moments, and that's cost me Solo Warrior twice so far. That's the only one I haven't gotten yet.

"Favorite" is kind of vague here... in 3000 games the one I get the most is Confederate, at 3%. 

 

The one I like the most from a conceptual standpoint is Witherer. I love doing DoT damage, but I've only managed two of those... 0.06%

 

The one I like the most from a flags perspective is Kraken, because it's probably the most useful flag. I was super annoyed when they switched that flag from Confederate to Kraken because Kraken is much harder to get... I have like 0.4%

Confederate is my favorite.  Makes me feel like I contributed more to the win since anyone can kill snipe.  Confederate is dealing damage pure and simple.

My favorite is solo warrior.  Got that in a Hosho of all the odd things.  My team took all three cap points, but then died chasing the enemy into the corner.  Thing is, all 4 surviving enemies were very slow t3 and t4 BBs, and they had been chased behind their own spawn.  They couldn't take the bases back before it ticked to 1,000.

Otherwise, some of my favorites are below.

Devastating Strike - 731 (This is about 1 in every 4 games, so I think that's a good ratio?)
Confederate - 177

High Caliber - 151

Witherer - 81 (Khaba = infinite source of Witherer and the flags that go with it.)

Kraken - 43 (The bonus exp flags are nice.)

Double Strike - 27 (I love speed flags!)

my 4 solo warrior    (emden, farragut, kamiR and chapayev)     are my most memorable, but my 2  die hard  in Sims is also quite amusing.   (in one,  leningrad   snuck up on me and rammed me while I was in smoke)       my hardest is of course clear sky which I got with bogue.    witherer isn't as tough with higher tier russian ships  .

I take most pride in Confederate (x134-humble brag) or High Caliber (x132).  They indicate you spread a lot of hurt to the enemy team.  Dreadnaught (x51) indicates your willingness to get in the fight and take damage, and is therefore honorable.  Krakens are fun (x48), but I have seen too many Kraken earners who were #4 or below in team ranking post-game.  That seems to point to opportunistic shooting but is obviously not always the case.  Solo Warrier (x3), Die Hard (x3) and Double Strike (x36) are just luck of the draw.  Be at the right place at the right time.  Witherer (x1) has proven to be an oddly elusive achievement for me.

 

I have never earned a Clear Sky.  This frustrates me.  I don't play CV's and have only recently gotten into T9 play, so that may explain that away a bit...but still.  My max planes shot down is 36...so I think I have probably been close.

 

Many of those I mentioned are not Heroic Achievements, so I apologize to OP for straying from topic.

My very first Die Hard was with a Lexington against a New Orleans. Yes, you read that right. I rammed a New Orleans in pretty much open water and I survived. (This was way back towards the end of 2015 for reference). I was surrounded on both sides near the edge of the map on Hot Spot when teams were spawned crisscrossed from one another. I decided it was better to charge the NO and it payed off

For me probably High Caliber, it means that most likely we have won the battle and I've contributed a big part of it.

Witherer used to be hard but it just signals a good game in the Khab or Kutuzov now, though I am quite proud of getting one in my Fubuki!.

Double Strikes not only require you to be in right place at right time, but also a ship that can do reliable damage from two sources at once. Something like German BB's, or the low tier USN DD's with torps up both sides of the ship for added lulz.

 

Dreadnought is a very honorabu award when driving BBs. More hilarious when getting dreadnought in Fiji. The High Caliber/Kraken/Confederate combination should just say either "I carried hard" or "back broken, couldn't carry hard enough" depending on win or loss.

Getting dreadnaught in a cruiser is quite satisfying. Also, since they made clear sky harder to get, I find it to be one of the most satisfying achievements to get in my Midway. It's like a giant alert to everyone in the match that you completely dominated the enemy carrier.
