IN love with that small machinegun, but trying to master it.

Is there any moment in which is convenient to switch to AP on the Akizuki? small guns, 100 mm

Thanks

Extremely close range against CLs and broadside destroyers.

Use AP on broadsides...even against DDs.  I've seen people run tests and the Akizuki's AP will kill a broadside Benson faster than IFHE will.

AP is my primary ammo choice. I use it much, much more than HE.

AP against anything broadside. For CAs and BBs go for their superstructure. For CLs at close range go for the citadel.

There can be issues with armor angle, but a Gearing and my Akizuki took a mutual dislike to each other and my AP killed him just as fast as his HE killed me, (simultaneous destruction.)

As others have said; AP generally against superstructures and broadside targets. When I could smoke up, I would fire HE to try and start fires; especially against bow on targets; but if they turned broadsie the switch to AP was automatic. Amazing how much health the IJN Atlanta can shave off of the superstructure of high tier battleships with its AP.

AP on broadsides. If they angle, use HE. AP will work on enemy destroyers as well.

Generally I use HE to set fires, then switch to AP while I wait for the damage control to go away. Then back to HE for more fires, and AP once I have a few fires and they're showing broadside. If they're angling, HE is your best bet.

IFHE is a MUST GET on Akizuki.
