For the new line of Russia DDs they look a lot of fun. It starts at T8 to T10. I have the Khabarovsk unlocked. Will there be any reciprocity when the split occurs. Do I get the T10 new Russian DD or do I have to grid from T8 again? For past reference the Japanese split line saw reciprocity for the previously owned tiers and captain skill points. So a T8 Fubuki with a 16 point captain got a T8 split line equivalent with the 16 point captain, no? Should I expect this to happen?

Using your example, people got the new Tier 8 main line IJN DD when they moved the Fubuki down a Tier since they reduced the tier level of a ship the player had already unlocked.

They had unlocked the Tier 8 so they were provided with the new Tier 8 replacement.

This was done for the main line only. Having a Tier 8 Fubuki did not get you a subline Tier 8 Akizuki.

The Khab is still a Tier 10 and still in the main line of RU DD's.

Why would they give you the subline Tier 10 when they didnt retier or change the line of the Khab?

No, that is not what happened with the IJN split.  If you have a ship that changes Tier or location in the tree, you get the ship that replaces it in the tree and a Captain with 6-8 pts depending on the ship.  Ships that do not change have no impact, and you do not get an equivalent captain.  Search the forum for more detailed information.

Might just have to wait for the official announcement because the Soviet DD split is a lot more complicated than the IJN DD split.  All changed ships in the IJN tree went down in tiers.

If you had a Fubuki, you got the Tier 6 Fubuki and the Tier 8 Kagero which are still part of the same line and not the sub-branch... in addition, you kept the ship you had (Fubuki) and received the replacement ship as compensation for being at Tier 8 already (Kagero).

The Khabarovsk you'll get to keep and I doubt you'll get the Tier 10 from the other branch, but ships like the Ognevoi that you'd already have researched and go into the sub-branch and also go up in tier, so we don't know for certain if you'd actually get the equivalent in the main line, sub line, or also keep the same ship while it changes tier.

Personally it would be kinda weird to own a tier 6 Ognevoi, get the new Tier 6 Gnevny as a replacement, but also get the new Tier 8 Ognevoi for people who aren't already at Tier 8.  It may be where the game won't compensate the Tier 8 Ognevoi unless you had the current Tier 8 Tashkent researched.

Myself, I'm on the Tier 7 Kiev.. I'm expecting to get the Tier 7 Minsk replacement and that's it since I'm not on Tier 8 where the 'new' Kiev is going, but if WG compensates me for owning the Kiev by giving me a Tier 8 Kiev, it basically becomes a free tier I didn't earn.

If you have Ogbivoi in the port, it turns into the new T8 version plus the new T6 in the original tree. If you have the Udaloi in your port, it turns into the new T9 and you get the new T9 Tashkent in the original tree.

Basically you want all the original T5-T9 ships for max benefit.

This is my understanding as well.  You should have T5-T9 in port (not just unlocked) before the change hits.

Crap I need to start grinding! Any idea when the patch will hit? Is there any captain reciprocity as the other person mentioned? For example if I have a 15 point captain in the ognevoi now, does he move with it to tier 8, and I get another 15 pointer in tue new gnevny? Also do they need to be trained on the ship or just in it? Wondering if there's an opportunity to get some free captains here

Sweet thanks! I am going to make a mad dash for the Tashkent this weekend. Probably won't get the udaloi in time, I'm just unlocking the gnevny.

Looks like the official word is out.

You will get the ship in its higher tier placement if you owned the current one and it is lower.  E.g.: ognevoi, Kiev, Tashkent

The Udaloi is the T9 in the new branch, if you have the ship in your port, you will get the new ship for free and a CPT while you will keep your CPT and ship in the new branch. Note...YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE SHIP PURCHASED IN YOUR PORT IN ORDER TO GET THE BENEFITS.
