New second ship in Star Trek Discovery?

Latest leaks from Star Trek Discovery points to a second ship which is very likely the much rumored USS Shenzhou, the wireframe of it appearing in a pad.

 

 

Render of the design.  I think it looks better than the USS Discovery, whose design seems controversial to say the least.  I do have problems with the alleged design of the USS Shenzhou.  The nacelles look too advanced for the era (is this a ship that came from the future?).  But the deflector dish on the disk is consistent to the era and of earlier starship design.  The circular disk is also consistent with earlier starship design.

 

 

Fan analysis of the new ship suggests a really big ship --- much bigger than the Discovery and even the TOS Enterprise.

 

 

 

The captain of the ship is said to be Captain Georgiou, with Michelle Yeoh filling the role.

I am just excited for a new star trek series......never been a big fan of female captains in the series.  Who knows.....maybe this will be different from Voyager.  (sucked imho)

Voyager was good, but I think it was put out at a time where people were starting to get trekked out.

 

I mean, it's the story of Homer and his Argonauts.

For those who have an interest in such things, you'll find s-f spacecraft sizes compared here. (along with a few real-world items)  Most of your favorite Trek ships are on the 1x page.  For us WoWS fanboys, Yamato is found at the bottom of the page to the right.  Unfortunately, while the page is archived, it is no longer being updated so USS Shenzhou will not be added.

Discovery needs to follow the path of technology between Enterprise and The Original Series. None of that even comes close. Really is kind of sad IMO, that they are turning trek into a cash cow manually instead of making trek...well...trek, and having the cash cow ensue. I am really scared they are going to mess it up, but I am excited for it.

 

I hope to hell they chuck out Discovery and redesign the ship.

They have said that discovery has already had a redesign but still looks similar. If you look at the video they have posted about the show the style of the interior looks similar to the uss franklin witch is the closest ship in canon we have seen.
