How about a sea plane base? Historically accurate, and should be more reasonable than radar stations.

Let's say a successful capture allows the base to send three large twin engine seaplane over an area, that wouldn't be so crippling to dds as the radar stations and actually possible to counter by shooting down the aircrafts with friendly AA cover.

The possibilities are limitless, the aircrafts can carry drag sonars to spot into smoke very briefly to add some balance, or carry bombs and attack targets.

What do you guys think?

I swear I thought you were your sister...

As soon as Bastion is looked at and revamped, but this sounds as a viable idea.

So you don't mean a seaplane base, as in a base that launched seaplane bombers and seaplane fighters. You mean a flying boat base that refuels and launches PBY Catalinas or Type 2 flying boats purely for recon patrol purposes.

So the dd captains won't start yelling again, yes.

Given we've been nerfed constantly over the past year due to the incessant whining of battleship mains who'd rather complain than learn how to play their ship, can you blame us for being a bit bitter and tired of it?

Only if they randomly blew up as well - they were known for doing that....  Problem I see is that good AA would rip them to shreds before they could do anything.
