Thank you For The Katori - Will Yubari Ever Be Sold Again?

Thank you for giving away the Katori to everyone on NA that plays even an average amount of games. I have almost all of the premium ships, but there is one that I have been hoping would be put on sale. That one is the Yubari. Will WOWS ever put that ship for sale again? You don't have to say when, but can you just tell me even if it's a possibility?

 

Thank you again for the Katori and everything else that you do for players.

Yubari went on sale last spring IIRC. That's when I got mine, I'm sure they will sell it at some point. It's not like it's OP or anything.

Wow. I spent $390 under the impression Katori would be exclusive. I didn't have 6 ships in the armada bundle, which is why I bought it (also was a good deal on doubloons). That being said, this makes me uncomfortable about buying "exclusive" ships. This feels like a slap in the face, especially after being told I couldn't get the stars and stripes camo for Texas despite having bought it twice...  Once on it's own, and again in the armada bundle. I'm sure I'll draw some hate and comments about poor money management, but I am discontented after hearing this.

 

Edit: To add, I could've bought the specific "nation" bundle to get those 6 ships. I bought the armada bundle because I wanted Katori. I would have never bought it if I knew it would be given away for free. I'm really regretting spending that much money, when I could've saved $300 and bought the "nation" bundle.

Why does "exclusive" matter so much to you? What joy do you lose out on if someone else you'll never meet has something you have? Especially when it's digital goods, exclusivity is a stupid concept.

 

This is a concept as old as online games and also a concept I'll never understand. Certainly things in MMOs that have to be earned through hard raids makes sense because actual effort went into getting it, but purchased/premium content like this game's ships, complaints seem senseless to me.

 

The only exclusives I see remaining exclusive in this game are things like the Arpeggio ships where WG's contract ran out and they legally cannot offer them again.

It was exclusive to that bundle, as there was no other means of obtaining it. Even in forum contests, the Katori was a excluded from "pick a ship" prizes.

Nobody said it would remain exclusive to that bundle. It was never implied to be an exclusive ship. Any assumptions that it would be exclusive are just that: Assumptions.

I don't. That's not why I'm upset. I'm upset because they used the Katori to advertise a HUGELY expensive bundle that I bought because the Katori was an added bonus.

 

Basically, I'm upset because I paid for something that is now to be given away for free.

• They sell them for $20 each.
• You buy all of them.
• 6 months later, the ARP missions release, allowing the ships to be earned for free.

I can completely understand. I have almost every premium ship in the game. In no way was I going to spend 400 dollars on a ship bundle just to get about 4 ships that I didn't have. I was so frustrated by the Thanksgiving whale sale. I felt at the time that I would never be able to get some of the ships they were offering to whales even though I had already spent more than that amount of money buying all the other premiums separately. I felt like they didn't care that I had spent more money in total than a whale did but was still treated like a second class customer and unable to get rare ships because I simply wasn't rich and able to throw down 400 dollars on ships on already had mostly.

 

But I didn't begrudge anyone who didn't have all the ships already and got a monstrously awesome deal on the package in general. As well, I don't begrudge anyone who got the Tirpitz on sale or package when those packages were never offered when I bought most of the ships that I got. As well, now people know in advance when a ship will go on sale in a package as the month calendar will tell you now what ship packages will be on sale. I thought this was against policy as they say that they never talk about when a ship will be on sale but now give you a month in advance through the calendar about the sale and bundle.

 

But don't be mad. The way that I look at it is that I am supporting the game and that this company deserves support. The Christmas and Halloween events were some of the best give aways that any game company has ever done. How awesome was giving away the Kamikazi R? How many co-op players really like the Mikasa that they got for free? I am so appreciative that this company gives away so much to its players and I support that the best I can by buying premium time when I play and almost every premium ship that I can afford. Please don't begrudge your 400 dollars spent. I for one certainly appreciate you supporting such generous and hard working people that WOWS has been. Thank you.

Funnily enough I actually missed the Kamikaze R event because I wasn't playing at the time. I really want it because it is the only premium ship I don't have (barring Flint, Black, Iwaki A, and Ark B). Prior to buying the armada bundle, I purchased every ship in the store, and every time a new one released, I normally bought the "ultimate" bundles.. I even bought the Graf Spee bundle when it came out. I love this game, and I am happy to support it with what funds I can put aside for it.

 

You make good points, and I suppose that I will just look at my purchase for Katori to be a contribution to WG to make the game better. I did enjoy the 200k doubloons I received from the bundle (despite having blown through 140k now), so I can't say I didn't get anything out of it. You could try to pester support to give you doubloons for your Katori.  Or at the very least ask what will happen if you complete the mission but already have her.  I doubt it would hurt to try.

It is tier 3.  It isn't useful for most missions.  You can't even use it to do the missions to earn it. HAHAHA

 

If I get complete the missions it'll be added to the growing list of ships I rarely play.  At least WoWS is putting decent missions together.  WoT is a waste land.

You could try to pester support to give you doubloons for your Katori.  Or at the very least ask what will happen if you complete the mission but already have her.  I doubt it would hurt to try.

I bought too the armada bundle and I am happy all players can now benefit from it. But as I don't like to be elitist for this ship, I turn to those with Iwaki Alpha and Arkansas Beta and say, you should be happy the day they release those ships to all players.

No ship is ever sold with the promise of 'exclusivity'.  If that is why you are paying money for ships, you are doing it wrong.  People have already asked why you care...and I also wonder.  Is it so when you are in a game with your unobtanium digital boat other players jump in chat and "ooh" and "aah" over it?

 

Graf Spee was offered for sale, but only after it was offered as a reward for completing a campaign.  Buying it just gave you a jump start on the other campaign that required a game played in the Graf to get started.  Didn't matter...I earned the Graf in the campaign and still managed to complete the other campaign and earn the bonus Tirpitz camo.

 

Never buy a ship expecting it to be rare.  You will be setting yourself up for salty disappointment.
