But I just decided to stop because I didn't know what would happen. I have premium cammo on some, and I am at the Tashkent right now. However, people now tell me to buy premium cammo on all of them, put my best captains in them, and continue to grind the tashkent right away and unlock the Udaloi and do the same thing, buy the Udaloi premium cammo and put whatever best captain I have in it. Essentially someone said that the premium cammo will be duplicated to the new ships and my captains as well. Also, I will be given the replacement ships and will keep my current ships. So, essentially a two for one deal on everything basically that I have. Is that right? How should people prepare for this Russian DD split?

A 1 point captain will get you just as much as a 19 point captain. I don't think buying premium camo will get you all that much as most ships are being up tiered. For example, if you get the premium camo on the Tashkent, you will also get one on the Kiev. But having a premium camo on the Kiev is of questionable value as it won't help you research anything, unless you want to use it to farm convertible free XP.The only question is the value of the premium camo. I suppose it's possible you could get a Tier 9 camo for the value of a tier 8, but I'm not so sure and would wait to spend money until I know for sure how exactly things are going to work. But if you can get the Udaloi, get the Udaloi as it will save you having to grind it out by playing the Ognevoi. If you can't get the Udaloi, it might be worth buying a premium camo for the Ogenvoi....but I'd still wait to be sure of the camo value first. You already have the Tashkent which moves up to tier 9. As far as I see it you should be good. I always buy the camo so I can't say as to that. I am basing my opinion on the PT so take that into account. This is not based on any other research than what I saw in the PT.

If you don't get the Udaloi, then you will have to start from scratch and grind her with the Ogenvoi, which may or may not be better at tire 8 than the Tashkent. Also all your progress towards it will be wiped.

I just got the Tashkent and have only 1 battle in her and am doing Ranked anyway so I figured for me at least it's grind it now or grind it after ranked season ends or rank 1 which ever comes first. Does anyone know what'll become of my xp on Udaloi? Will it stay with Udaloi on the path to the new tier 10? Or transition to *new* tier 9 Tashkent on the path to khaba? With IJN split my Fubuki just became a kagero with the fubuki xp on hand for Yugumo, but that change had fubu moving *down* not "sideways".
242 Lillehuntrix Members 1,140 posts 8,387 battles Report post #9 Posted February 27, 2017 I'm in exactly the same place you are, Rounne, or maybe a bit before: just barely have the Tash in port, no hope of grinding the Udaloi before this drops, so I'm standing pat. I think it will pay, credit/ship/progress-wise, to have all the ships you've unlocked in port with at least minimal captains on them when the split hits - but I already had them and didn't have to purchase any anew. I'm betting we will have a 24 hour window between when the terms are announced and the split hits, but maybe not more than that. So if you don't want to gamble on the compensation terms being as expected, just be sure to keep checking the game website for the patch announcement. Permanent camo is harder. IIRC, people did get 2 for 1 permanent camos out of the IJN split. But the larger question for me would be whether you have the intention to keep all the ships in the line long-term. People call the Tash a challenge at T8, for instance - not sure if that will improve by moving it to T9 and so I'm not sure I would ever commit to camo for it. Until they announce their plans no one knows for sure what will happen. If you look at the ijn split, xp stayed with the tier it was earned on and line. So if the udaloi changes lines in the split the xp you have already earned would not transfer over. But nothing has been advised yet so take that with a grain of salt. My best guess with how the camos work would be: Udaloi camo = Udaloi (new) camo + Tash (new) camo Tash camo = Kiev (new) camo Kiev camo = Minsk camo Ognevoi camo = Ogenvoi (new) camo + Gnevy (new) camo I don't believe Gnevy has a permanent camo Edited February 28, 2017 by Lightninger

Way to much over compensating for the actual crappy WWII Russian navy. So, do we get Forrest Sherman and Mitscher class in US line to compensate?? Or are the rest of the navies restricted to actual war veterans? Edited February 28, 2017 by KalishniKat
