What can I do about map glare?

While realism does have a place in a good game, it shouldn't be one sided.  There are several maps that cause enough glare to spoil targeting - specifically with torpedo aiming on the surface of "shiny" water.  Yes, WG you've done a great job with graphics, and I've been impressed with the scenery and the beautiful sunsets, but for goodness sake can I have a pair of polarized lenses I can put on when in battle?  Seriously, the other day (I forget which map), right after the usual opening rainstorm, the sun came out.  I caught the glare off of my number one turret and I swear I saw spots in my eyes the next three minutes.  I didn't think a computer screen could do that.

I can "see" it now.  "Grandad, are you playing a VR game?"..."No kids, these are wrap around sun glasses, to make me look gangster".  "Grandma, Grandad is being weird"  "Leave him alone, children, he's playing his little boat game". <sigh>

Try going into setting (graphics) and changing the following;

1) Check "increased GUI contrast"
2) Set reflections to "low"

Maybe set Additional reflections to low as well.

Feel free to play around. The increased GUI contrast helped me a bunch.

I've had that before near A on North. The glare kept me from seeing incoming shells from an Amagi on the horizon. I didn't even know he shot until they had already hit, and I was zooming to wait for his salvo.

Download Aslains mod pack,  check the box beside "Anti-glare (Sunglasses)".

We shouldn't have to use a 3rd party mod to correct something that WG needs to fix. And they need to fix it. It's like having a light bulb glaring in your face.

No, the proper analogy is that it is like being on the bridge of the Enterprise on a J. J. Abrams movie. :D

(If you don't understand the reference, this HISHE (How It Should Have Ended) makes fun of that I am referring to:
