Now that the devs realized how ridiculous the Grozovoi's AA was with a 40% LR AA nerf, how about a 40% nerf for Minotaur's LR AA?

For the love of god, nerf minotaur's LR AA:

1000 AA dps means you shoot down 3 planes in 2 seconds on average covering a span of 7.2-8.6 kilometers (effectively 2 and a half cap circles in some maps).

It can stealth AA for essentially a quarter of the map (without smoke).

You surely don't want your hard work with the CV rework to be underappreciated and unplayed do you WG?

Grozovoi's AA was so ridiculous because it had Defensive Fire and could use it's AA from stealth. Minotaur has neither of these benefits, while also being larger, slower and less maneuverable. There's no reason to nerf her AA.

Only a monster goes AFT/MFAA on a Minotaur. So many other better skills =.=

 

divisions.

I'm ok with minotaur AA if they make a no division checkbox for random battles.

So apply the nerf once the rework goes through.

 

Until the rework goes through, make CV play as miserable as possible.

 

Nope, all it does is make the team of the carrier without a minotaur babysitter miserable because their carrier can't do anything about it.

Minotaur has higher AA values than prenerf grozovoi by around nearly two times, which effectively gives it permanent defensive fire in stealth, as it's AA bubble outranges it's detectability by air whilst shooting secondary/AA guns.

if you aren't built to be an AA slave, this shouldn't really affect you.

Maybe the question I'm posing of a nerf to MFAA, BFT, AFT or AA mod 2 in one aspect or another with respect to AA value.

Players that already have Minotaur might yell loudly for compensation if its long-range AA is nerfed.

 

Perhaps a better idea is each AA upgrade beyond AFT/BFT increase base detection range by 1km.

 

AA range ideally is not greater than detection-by-air anyway, but it's WG's game.

But not on the long range on the Minotaur. Prenerf Grozovoi had 84 DPS on her long range, whereas Minotaur as 118. You may realize 118 to be nowhere near double 90. Additionally, defensive fire triples the output of the long and midrange AA, which brought that long range figure up to 270 for just that aura, plus a very powerful midrange aura at 82dps that gets tripled as well, with Grozovoi's main battery also being subject to MFT. So, basically, on the long range, Grozovoi had up to 420 dps at 5.2km, plus the 246dps at 3.5km, compared to Minotaur's up to 216 at 6km and the much more substantial 315 at 5km. This, of course, does not take into account BFT, AFT, modules, or signals, which would widen the gap even farther. In the midrange aura, Grozovoi had more DPS than Minotaur with defensive fire active.

the 76.2's (same as des moin's best AA gun) is 7.2 km (with AFT and AA mod 2 iirc). I think it's still in stealth. Those two added with all appropriate AA upgrades. is above 1000 AAdps.

I believe Minotaur's DP aura goes to 8.5 or so, with Grozovoi's at 7.5ish. Grozovoi's concealment is also far greater, with only 4.8km air detection, compared to Minotaur's 9.1. So, while Minotaur can potentially stealth fire on aircraft, it's not to the same degree by any stretch.

 

Minotaur has great AA. That's what cruisers are supposed to have though. That's like...the main part of their job in the game, protecting the fleet from aircraft and destroyers and the like. So, a destroyer that has better AA capabilities than most all cruisers in the game is silly, hence why it was nerfed.

Heaven forbid a cruiser in large part designed for heavy AA perform well in that situation. What *is* the world coming to?

 

OP is one of those people who will whine any time a CV is nerfed in any way, no matter how much it's needed.

So basically you want to nerf all AA? Not until the torps and bombs on CVs do way less damage.

Only a monster goes AFT/MFAA on a Minotaur. So many other better skills =.=

 

Im training my brit CL captain to be AA spec... im no monster, I merely *HATE* carriers. I figure that spec will give me more warm fuzzy feels than merely spamming gunfire from stealth :)

I've no idea where your getting 100DPS from, it maxes out at somwhere slightly in excess of 550 without BFT/Flag/AAM3. Remember Manual AA effects guns of 85mm or more, the 76mm do not benefit.
