For a destroyer that seem like it will forever be a part of a one-ship tech tree; Blys does seem to be quite the popular ship.

I wish I had it in ranked. I have to settle for Sims.

The Sims, the Sims just needs a boost to AA. I love that she is an AA Destroyer, given the way she was sent to the bottom in WW2. She was escorting the USS Neosho for submarine protection duty. The two ships were spotted by the Japanese in the battle of Coral Sea. It was reported as a carrier and cruiser escort. The japanese ordered a FULL air attack on the two ships. (Can you imagine? A lonely supply ship and destroyer against a full fleet air attack.) The Sims went down all guns a blazing against insurmountable odds. She needs an AA buff, using planes against her or for spotting her should be a pain.

 Have to laugh I guess. If i was going to buy a premium it would be the kami as I play IJN DDs and captain training would be nice.

 

If I was going to change my DD style (torpedo to gunship) I would  have looked at the Blyskawica.

 

What have I got the choice of, the Tachibanana! Timing lol!

I have Kami and Fujin. Their tier 5 though. We're talking about ranked battle tier 7 ships.

I thought we were just talking about the Blys (someone did mention ranked though).

Frankly the Sims is a better DD for Ranked or team play IMHO. USN smoke first and foremost. Lower detection range, better agility, faster turret traverse, and higher rate of fire all make Sims better for close DD vs. DD combat. As I've progressed through Ranked, I'm seeing more and more Sims and fewer of everything else other than Shiratsuyu. Yes, the Sims torps are a bad joke. I call them "potato mines" but we all know that there are potatoes playing Ranked!

 

For Random, I'll take the Blyskawica 9 times out of 10. Effective stealth firing and Stalinium AP are just so much fun.

Sims is a mediocre DD. Its prevalent at ranked matches because its actually available for sale right now while the Leningrad and Blyscawica are not. Every nub bought one or a Belfast.

 

It does ok at ranges of 8kms or less hugging islands, hiding in smoke next to a Belfast with its overpowered radar.... anything longer than 8kms its useless. Horrible arcs. Terrible torpedoes. Only suitable for extremely close engagements.

 

I'll solo any Sims in my Leningrad or Blyskawica any day and pop it from 14kms away. It cant hit me or catch me. The Sims is my last choice in ranked.

Blyska would have been my choice. No longer available so I guess that's that.

 

Don't collect ships for the sake of it and can't afford to spend money on premium ships if they aren't going to stand up to previously sold powerhouses.

 

Good to hear the different opinions on the ships though. LittleWhiteMouse also does an excellent job with her reviews!

Sold my Blys only to get it back in Santas box.  Lenin is better.

I got one from a Santa Crate too. While I don't do very well in most DDs, I do pretty good with the Blys. She's the only DD that I play every now and then. I'm glad I got her.
