Expressing my frustration with American CV's and an idea

Begin Rant:

There is nothing more frustrating than a US CV at low tier. They are not fun to grind and a drag to play. The reload on squads, especially your fighter squad is longer than a battleship reload timer, and the feeling of strafing a enemy fighter squad, having them lose 3 planes, and then, thanks to RNG, kill your full health squad after a lock is infuriating. Although I prefer the accuracy of the torpedo alt aim as it's a tighter spread, the amount of AA in the game combined with the surprising number of ships that run defensive fire make it really hard to hit anything with your RNG bombers. Furthermore being in a tier 6 CV and having ~90% of your games paired with majority tier 7 and 8 is really depressing. AA at that level is far too strong and too saturated to do anything against. GAHHH

What I would love to see is a relativity system in place where if you do get placed into a tier 8 game as a tier 6 CV those tier 8 AA guns will do relatively less damage to your planes, giving you a actual chance to fight against them instead of having your entire squad melt before it has a chance to drop 1 torpedo. Maybe this could be implemented in a captain skill, say as another line on dog-fighting expert like "10-20% higher chance for your planes to survive opposing fire from ships and planes of higher tier" or something like that. Cause not only would that be useful, but under a captain skill labelled "dog-fighting expert" that would be so flavourful. 

 

Thoughts?

 

Clarification... The squad I lost my fighters to that was mentioned was another independence fighter squad. We had the exact same load-out and if anything were closer to friendly ships than enemy ships.

AA needs a nerf, no doubt.

 

But if your losing hull squads to damaged ones, especially IJN, your doing something wrong unless your out tiered. Either you've not built right or your closer to enemy AA guns than you think.

They are re-working CV game play as a whole and hopefully we will know more in a few months.

 

 

 

Do you have a link to where they said they were reworking? Cause I'd very much like to read about these and other changes.

"A Few Months" More Likely near the end of summer we will hear peps of it, in the upgrade names, I think update 0.7.0 will be the CV Rework, so if we are on update 6.1.1, and they update monthly, that will take awhile... because Reworking CVs is something very big.... but then again, all of this is just my own speculation. Until then, WG is not going to touch CVs though... not a bit.

The only specifics we have right now are on the UI change and the...early tier changes.  The rebalance is unknown right now.  We know controls are being changed to work more like Star Craft and that manual attacks are being removed from T4 and 5 to help deter seal clubbing.
