Yubari

I'd forgotten I had this ship until the other night someone mentioned they had seen a ton of Yubaris, so I took it out.  With the new MM, accuracy mod, and captain skill, this ship is doing much better than I remember.  I've only lost once, and doing a ton of damage like this game:

Not to mention the shocking AA it can put up for unsuspecting CVs.

I haven't played this ship since I first started the game. Might be time to take her out for a spin.

I hadn't either.  Like I said, I forgot I even had it.  Dropped my Kamikaze R's captain in there and just went to town.  CE really helps the ship a lot.

forgot Yubari...NEVER! one of my favs. CE/AA buffs make this thing a nice Kawachi/South Carolina escort, quite enjoy giving the new players some decent AA cover, can't help them running into broadside torps but hey do what I can. She has been helped by some of the changes though won't argue that.

My friend once got a CQE medal in his Yubari with its one secondary. I will always treasure the one I picked up in my Kiev

Yubari's hilarious now. She's still a seriously high-skill ship, but much more fun than before.

A challenge to play but fulfilling to play well.

 

Give her better torpedo angles and she would be great, till then I will call her Mosquito Wings.

She's a pretty underrated ship and really fun.

 

I haven't taken her out in a bit though, since all the missions are usually Tier V and higher.

My sometimes division buddy is very good with light cruisers and favors oddball ships.  His Yubari with my Nikolai is, well, potentially a bit unfair

Watch out for Bogatyr's or Oleg's running IFHE.  They will citadel with HE lol

Yubari's alright but I'm still upset on that occasion one of my gun crewmen accidentally dropped a used shell casing and it citadeled the ship.

Still a really poor ship... But it can do alright so long as nothing ever shoots at it.

I normally only play the Yubari like once a month now days, but checking the stats I have a 67% wr and 37k average damage with her, and I think she's a terrible, terrible ship, if fun...

I do believe though in the closed Beta she was the first ship I got clear sky's with, back when division'd carriers where a thing.

Haha, it is a great day, even more ironic, I got mine in a Kiev against a Bismark 

 

 

Anyway yeah the yubari has laser guns at a tier that most ships can't hit the broadside of a barn from 10km.  They don't have to fire fast or do a lot of damage, simply by hitting where you want when you want it is a huge advantage.
