178 games later, and I finally reached rank 5 (generally my goal for ranked battles).  I actually prefer this season over the previous two seasons, mostly because cruisers have become relevant, but partly because of the Belfast (possibly mostly because of the Belfast).

 

With my first season (season 4) it took 500 games to get to rank 5.  Last season, I got it down to 400 games.  I would like to think I'm getting better, but I do have to take into account the Belfast effect.  Also, this season doesn't seem as salty, except for the regular Belfast hate (every game starts with it, lol).
 

Back to the point that cruisers have become relevant, most matches have a variety of cruisers now; these were rarely seen and generally the recipient of much salt in previous seasons. Fijis, Myokos, Myoko hybrids, Indys, Atlantas, even Yorcks are present.

One recommendation I have for WG is to take into account radar equipped ships with match making.  I've been in a couple of matches where my side had two radar equipped ships, and the other side had none; these were generally blowout wins (not that I'm complaining).

I was in a match where the other team had three Belfasts and an Atlanta, whereas we had three ARP Myokos and a Pensacola.
