2500 Battles. What I Have Learned....

* I am an average player trying to get better

* It's not the ship, it's me

* Watching you tubers and streamers helps me if they are good players

* I have to study a ship and learn or figure out what it's gimicks are before I even can do average in it

* It takes me alot more games to get the feel for a ship than I thought it did

* Assume everyone is a retarded player until PROVEN otherwise

* I have 68 ships in port and it took me 2500 games before I liked ALL of them

* Some ships truly are miles better than others, but any ship can be decent in the right hands

* You don't need every premium ship in the game, but I do like having and playing every one that I have

* It is better to grind only two ships / lines at a time alternating when one is not in port

* Constantly shwitching ships ruins my play

* Co-op mode is great for many things, Random mode is too, neither is bad or good, they both just ARE

* I still rage at teams, but not NEARLY as much as I did at 500 games

* Raging at players is a complete waste of my time

* My mouth is my biggest opponent in this game

* Aim twice, shoot once

* Play the caps, just play them smartly

* Listen to other people on your team, but filter out quickly the [edited]comments

* Try not to go alone and help other players when you can

* Sometimes it is still best to let a player die for his mistake than to follow them down the rabbit whole of certain doom

* Never rely on someone else to back you up

* The exist strategy should always be in the back of your mind

* A plan to win should always be in the front of your mind

* Tunnel vision is a bad habbit. Checking your surounding is a good habbit. Break bad habbits by making good ones

* Tier ten permanent cammo is a good thing. Expensive, but it makes the tier far more enjoyable and less frustrating

* Never sell a premium ship

* Never buy an underperforming premium ship thinking that you can make it work

* If a ship sucks for random then it might be good for co-op games

* Don't keep every ship you grind up

* Keep the ones you really like

* Make notes and plans about your account and what you want to do. It keeps you on track towards goals better

* Always check the website and game for the latest missions, challenges, and events. You may miss something great if not

* Form your own opinion about a ship. Never just take someone elses word for it. You may like the worst ship in the game

* Most people think they know how to play the game, but don't. Better to KNOW that you DON"T know the game well

* Spend some time learning about the game by watching ship reviews, streams, strat guides, etc every week at least

* Write down your errors and you will see the bad patterns in yourself that need to be broken

* Actively try to break through those bad patterns

Player taught me one just yesterday: when running into a ship in his smoke, insult him, then ask something like " why u backing up, idiot?".

Bonus points:

Make certain you are in T10 ship, with solid 700WTR.

generally good points all around; i'd only disagree with a few on a personal basis... like switching between ships helps my play .

Looks like your time away from here was well-spent, Rounne.  All of what you mentioned are very valid points, although I would caution that how you learn and improve may not work for other people.  As pikohan said, it varies by the individual.  The requirement to discover your own methods of self-improvement, IMO, are the primary reason why people are a bit tentative of applying themselves to getting better: they don't know where to start.

You've got some really good points there, Rounne. Congrats on the milestone, and best of luck with the grind to the next!

A long list, a lot of this is common sense but not always so easy to remember to do lol.

The only thing I would add is even when a game looks lost keep trying; I've been surprised many times being 4 ships down then finding later we are back in the game.

Of course I've been just as disapointed when our team is in the lead and it makes half the team think they are invincible. Yep that's when it all goes wrong! :D

I could say Emden

Also that one. But Albany was the one I sold, not the Emden.

Nothing here really helps if your team is a bag of potatoes . . .

I agree. When I first earned the Emden from a mission, I originally sold her. But I won her from a Santa crate again, so the Emden is back in my port.

Excellent post, +1.  I'm a few hundred games behind you.

All I will add is that sometimes it is helpful to consider the actions of others through the same lens you present here on your own play (and mine).  The person who makes a stupid move or misses a shot may be learning a new ship, switching between ships with different play styles, a DD main playing BB to expand their horizons, etc.  No, this does not excuse egregious stupidity, team-killing, or the like, and no it doesn't make it any less frustrating, but it is worth taking a pause before you attack someone's potato noob stupidity.

I still have both :)

I have Emden and sold Albany for a port slot when she was a reward. I don't miss her, Chikuma was and still is better in any regard.
