The Canaidian navy has tough ships too, and some are very important, like the H.M.C.S. iriqois (correct me if spelllings wrong) leads a task force that stops drug-smuggling in the red sea (i think). So Go Canadian navy, you will never let the canaidian people down! :Smile_honoring:  :Smile_honoring::Smile_honoring:  :Smile_honoring:  :Smile_honoring:  :Smile_honoring:  :Smile_honoring:

The Tribal Class were not just Canadian; They were designed by the Royal Navy (English) and also used also by the Royal Australian Navy, and will be in the British tech tree when it comes out

I do believe you are referring to two different classes of ships. The Iroquois class (early 1970's) which also went by the name Tribal class destroyer, was only built for the Canadian army. There was however another Tribal-class destroyer type built in 1936 which also went by the name Afridi class, these were used by the UK, Canada, and Australia.

As a point of interest, there were actually two other tribal classes made by the british, one destroyer class in 1905 called the F Class and a Frigate class built in the 60s and 70s also called Type 81.

Oh yea it's spelled Iroquois, but everyone got the idea anyways.

I am aware of that, why did you quote my post in that one?

The Iroquois destroyers will be replaced with the new Single Class Surface Combatant Project that is currently under design. Replacement of the Iroquois (aka Tribal) and Halifax (aka City) class ships is due later this decade with a total of 15 new vessels. No word if the current ships will be sold or scrapped once replacement begins.

15 vessels eh? Take that with a pinch of salt, we (the UK) were promised 12 Type 45 DD's, in the end we get 6...

take politician promises and defence reviews with a great deal of caution

I'm pretty sure we will get the 15 vessels of new type. The Single Class Surface Combatant Project will bring to the RCN a brand new Frigate class that will replace the current 12 Frigates (Halifax Class) and 3 Destroyers (Iroquois Class) of the navy. One for one. The fed gov. doesn't call for an increase of the navy, the RCN already has enough of a manpower shortage that it can't even crew much of the coastal patrol vessels.

Going by the topic name "Canaidian tribal class destroyers" i assumed he means HMCS Iroquois (G89) a tribal class destroyer i didn't read the bit after about stopping drug smuggling, although i think the OP meant anti-piracy... Anyway i was making the point that the Tribal class will be in the UK tree.

I love the tribal class. My grandpa spent the Korean War on the HMCS Huron. We have the Haida berthed in our fair city of Hamilton.

Honestly, I think the Halifax class frigate would put up a good fight against the Iroquois class destroyer. They essentially use the same weaponry (with the frigate having a few armament shortages), but the Frigate has better Fire Control systems (STIR vs Lirod), and is soon upgrading it's Harpoon missiles. Does the Iroquois use RAMSES for missile jamming, and SHIELD for chaff rockets? I know they have CIWS and ESSM. Some of the Frigates have already undergone a new refit as well to sup up their Command and Control Systems, as well as communications and radar systems, I wonder how much that will help/

I think anything designed for war would outfight a frigate, even though the frigate is heavily weaponized

Harpoon / ESSM / 57 MM gun on the Halifax class and SM2MR / 76 MM gun on the Iroquois class.  Once the FFH finds the DDG at range, he has more options to engage.  The DDG is designed now as a Area Defence destroyer against air threats.

When one person is telling another that they need to learn to spell, the most important thing the first person must make sure of is that their own spelling is correct. :sceptic:

As to the actual question, this is what you wrote:

Capital letters, punctuation, and periods are also a part of grammatically correct spelling. Nobody wants to be attacked for bad spelling by a person who can't spell themselves, so my point is that if you must criticise somebody for their spelling, make sure that your own is faultless first.

Grammar isn't spelling but thanks for the Grammar correction i guess. You seem to have a certain fondness of attacking the majority of my posts if not all of them, Is there a reason for this?

Let me make clear it's nothing personal. I don't know you nor have anything against you.

Up to now I have simply disapproved of some of the topics and posts you have made and voiced my own opinion. For example:
  • You've made a Chinese ship topic when there was already an existing and active Chinese ship topic.
  • You've asked what a fantasy Chinese tech tree would be like, when nobody has a clue because it never existed, and get defensive over it.
  • you've made a Canadian tech tree topic when there is already an existing Canadian tech tree topic.
  • You attack people for incorrect spelling when you yourself have not spelt correctly

Were it somebody else I'd have criticised them too, I'm not criticising you specifically. Everybody has different opinions, so far ours have not matched but that's not to say they won't in future.

I would love to see a Pre-Trump version of HMCS Huron DDH 281 in the game...  I served on this ship in the mid 80's
