Okay. So I spent and used up the last a last gift card, from the set of wheels I purchased for my one of cars over the holidays, and bought the prem RN VII Belfast (got the USN VI Arizona previously), and in anticipation of the up coming ranked season. So as I'm getting the grind on her someone on the other side goes on and on in chat of how he 'hates premium ships,' and ragging in-chat on about how they shouldn't even exist.

I didn't partake in the exchange and wound up muting the lunatic. However, this has been the 3rd or even 4th time that I seen such rants. Although this was distracting element upon entry into battle, as I somewhat rely on chat for a clue as to what the team's strategy may be, or even the opposition, but at the same time there was some slight amusement in the replies from others on both sides.

I could've shot back "get a job," or "thank WG who thanks their patrons for the free online video game you are playing with," or even "buy some new tires," but I really didn't want to dignify the lack intelligence that went into that thought ...but it begs to wonder what's up with that?!  And where I have long since come to value the mute option in the chat panel.

Well, Belfast particularly is a horribly OP premium. Expect backlash. Premiums are fine, but P2W isn't, and IMHO ships like Belfast toe that line very closely.

I see it all the time every week-

Ppl that absolutely loathe the idea of wallet warrior prem boats in their match.

I'm dumbfounded to the max!

Yet, do they feel the same way about reward boats like Flint, etc?

The combination of Radar, smoke and Cruiser HE makes her extremely powerful against lone targets since she can burn them down without getting shot at.

... And here I'm getting the feeling that the Belfast is OP in delivering its fair share of citadels as well :playing:

While all that is true, she often gets citadeled out of the water by anyone who so much as looks at her. Her bow gets overmatched by 203mm CAs guns ffs. And I've killed more Belfasts in my DDs then any other cruiser. Plus she doesn't get any repair parties at all, unlike the rest of the RN CLs. Any damage done, stays done

That happens by not paying attention and people will doze off from time to time....

its called distractions.

But if a Belfast is getting penned through her bow, she's obviously approaching a BB and is holding a steady vector.

Throttle and Rudder are only 2 of Belfast's many good traits! Most Some players experience  trouble chewing gum and walking in Belfast

The Belfast carries so much and so hard she'd surely sink if she wasn't buoyed up by all of the salt and tears she extracts from reds.

I think that's what you call "balance"

Crazy talk.

Bullcrap. Burned one to the waterline in my MK . And he was hiding in his smoke, just backed up in a straight line from where I last saw him. Burned him alive.  Plenty of ways to tackle a problem.

I've gotten flak a few times for playing premium ships. Once got called a wallet warrior while playing the Molotov in a tier 8 match on North. Most of the times I ignore the salty potatoes and let my stats or game performance do the talking.

But when I can't take the stupidity I will type in chat, "Yep I bought a premium ship, Some one has to keep the game free to play for all the scrubs."

I'd like a premium, just so I can get credits and train captains faster.

They're available through events a couple times a year, and there are some excellent ones for sale in the shop.

Word of caution:  don't buy your way into a tier or a play style you don't have experience with yet.  It's a sure way to regret your purchase and find yourself the target of a lot of anger from your team.

I just say "I prefer the term Credit Card Commando".

I think the question should be "What is not wrong with people?"

Premiums and other purchases are what pay for this game and keep it up and running,  with out them Mr. Freebie would have nothing to [edited]about because the game would be gone.

He's in our playground and its our kickball. Whether he likes it or not.

Welfare warriors, free-to-peasants, underprivileged captains.

I won't hate on someone who doesn't have the means or inclination to spend money on the game.  Until they open their mouths about it in game.

+1 to the OP as this is becoming more frequent and should be discussed.

.

The hows and whys of our money and spending it will always be - our choice.  You purchased  a very  good and fun tier 6 BB in the Arizona - congrats - love mine.  You will enjoy the Belfast.  I like mine but purchased it after the Fiji - better in the Fiji and still learning to play the Belfast well but really enjoy it.

.

Have fun in your premiums and remember - you pay money so others can play for free.  WG is not a non-profit company and uses its business model to provide enjoyment - is a game after all - and profit to the bottom line.

Call out for focused fire on the Belfast, and if your team is listening then the chances are good they can be melted pretty quickly.

but it begs to wonder what's up with that?!

It's called "jealousy". People who can't generate enough discretionary income for pixel boats don't like to be reminded of how badly they fail at life.

Yet, do they feel the same way about reward boats like Flint, etc?

Yep, for the the same exact reason - people who can't "git gud" enough to acquire Flint don't like seeing the proof of other people being able to do so.

Start game in Tirpitz.

"Worthless wallet warriors!" says chat.

Get the top score of the game.

Many lulz.

I get that comment even in PvE of all places. I always shoot back, "Yeah was the best $3 I spent on the game!". I got my Tirpitz from a Santa Container...

Being citadeled out of the water is something the IJN ship excel in. Belfast seems a lot tougher because of a shorter citadel.
