I have just bought the kirov tier 5 cruiser and its the worst paper bag of an excuse for a cruiser.

The kirov guns do no damage and are basically guns from a dd.

Can you confirm that the molotovs guns hit hard and are far above the kirovs joke guns for penetrating and power.

Was buying molotov need advice please as its expensive.

Molotov has a high skill floor unlike Kirov. You need to get the hang of the armor to know how to use her.

Guns perform well, but you need to have good skill to do so.

There's also nothing wrong with Kirov's guns. Hard hitting if used correctly.

Of course, if you use them they way you did with your previous post, they'll be shite because you don't know how to use them.

You're not the first to have this Kirov complaint. The guns are really quite good. Use HE for long range shots, and AP when a good CA flank shot presents.

Just know your flanks are your weakness. It would be best for you to master this ship, grinding your way up. The Budy is the next ship. When upgraded she is better than the Molotov.

You find each nations cruisers have there own peculiarities. Spend time mastering them or just toss in the towel.

Yeah it's going to take some practice to get the most out of low/mid tier Soviet cruisers.  The Molotov is really strong, the main problems you'll face are that you have very limited armour and you're a lot more likely to be bottom tier these days in that ship due to the fact that there are more players at higher tiers and the current MM team building logic.

If you're struggling with Kirov my suggestion is to keep practicing with it before you buy Molotov since you're not going to have a significantly different gameplay and generally tougher matchmaking.

Actually the Kirov guns hit very hard.

The weakness of Kirov are it's lack of armour, combined with a horrid turning radius.

If you are having problems with the guns, then avoid the Molotov.

The play style is the exact same.

Snipe from range and stay below notice. Once focused on you will melt.

The Molotov has tier 9 guns. So you will be a priority target for the red team.

To me, the Molotov's best quality is it's guns. They wreck everything that isn't shooting back at you. The ship is fast as hell but can't turn worth a damn. It can't evade incoming fire or take a hit so don't get shot at back, you won't last long if you do.

But be warned, I believe the Kirov and Molotov have the same guns unless I'm missing something.

Thanks yes i found the guns really so very poor in damage ability as to be pathetic they wouldnt even kill a cruiser with he im talking like 8 salvos and nothing all hitting.

The guns are considered strong. HE isn't the best damage dealer and I only recommend it on destroyers and angled ships.

AP will wreck battleships if you aim for the upper belt. You won't be getting citadels on battleships with these guns but you will be doing lots of damage to their upper belts.

AP will wreck any cruisers you will see at any range.

I only recommend firing HE if there is no way to get a broadside shot in the time it takes to reload.

Guns are accurate, arcs are flat.

Molotov guns are insane for a Tier 6 cruiser. The firing arcs are flat, and the shells get to the target quickly, they also have great range. You have essentially the same range as many tier 8 cruisers. In addition, your shells travel so fast that hitting targets at max range (or past it with your spotter up), is relatively easy. The HE hits hard and can pen the bow/fore deck of most battleships you will see. Setting 10-12 fires per game is easy with this thing. Your AP is also very strong and will wreck any cruiser unlucky enough to give you a broadside shot at any range. Broadside battleship, hit the upper belt/casemate for 4-8k per salvo. Stay at 8-12 km and hang around islands so you can duck into cover if people are shooting at you. You cannot tank at all. You have no armor, in fact your armor is weaker than many dd's due to the fact that you have a citadel and they don't. Keep range and use your incredible speed to flex to engagements where you will not be focused. Adding your very considerable firepower to an engagement can be a huge benefit to your team.

Nope, they are the same as T9 Domitri Donski.

For some reason I play the Molotov better than I ever played the Kirov. The Molotov guns are VERY good and people say they compare with many Tier 8/9 cruiser guns. I scored 6 citadels one time against another cruiser on one salvo. I had 4 citadels in one salvo against a cruiser in my Pensacola the other day. Just remember like most cruisers don't show your broadside/stay angled. I like the Molotov and have never regretted buying it.

The Molly can seriously deal out the damage but she cant survive much of a pounding. Hell, the ship's a floating citadel. It aint "if" I'm going to get cited, it's "when" and "how many times". Dishing out great damage aint worth a hoot if you cant survive very long.

This is the only Premium ship that I've bought in the store that I regret having done so.

Glass Cannons are not for everyone. If you're a sub 50% player you need to be picky about your ship choices. Molitov will be difficult. Same with Belfast for you. If I had to pick a ship you might want to have as a Premium I might say Sharnhorst or Arizona? Tirpitz even? I found as a newer player with stats in the 40s that ships like BBs with big guns and big armor that move slower and reload slower giving you time to think were a good choice. Cruisers can be tough to master right off...especially the really paper thin armor variety IMO? When I was learning and trying to bring up my WR I tended to go for ships that were more forgiving.
