Before we begin, let me be clear here and say that I did not have an especially good game myself (65k damage). 

 

This may have been the worst team I've experience so far in WoWs. It was Two Brothers. We went heavy A, very light on D. They sent virtually all of their team to D, steamrolled the cruisers there and kept on coming. Despite repeated, frantic calls for help, our team continued to sail off in one direction. Myself and one other cruiser turned back, PASSING two battleships who refused to turn with us. 

 

My 65k damage was essentially useless, coming against almost full strength battleships. The one weakness of the Russian cruisers is you just can't really punch something hard in the face so that it might actually stop. 

 

 

Just a reminder to all you captains out there: your ship comes with a rudder.

Try RN cruisers. They are not as whole lot better, but they do have decent torpedoes. Jokes aside. I know exactly how you feel. Played 6 games in Random yesterday, lost the first three due to the potatohead syndrome, even though I scored well in all three. Then the next three, in two games I get taken out early on, and in the third I have a poor game, and my teams win all three because the other teams potatoed big time. A 50% win rate, undeserved. I'll take 50% or better any day of the week.

It is especially annoying when its the t8 that fail so hard. Seems like half the t8 players are very good, the other half are morons. Nothing in between.

 

I avg 80k dam in Fubuki yesterday and lost all 3. Then did nothing the 4th battle and won........

Unbelievably, the avg exp for a Chappy is 1.3k, and I fall a hundred short, while my stats say i am an above average player. I've seen more potato Chappys than ones who fit the average.

Not really angry. More like dismayed. 

 

1. I've never been on a team that failed to sink a single enemy ship
2. I fully expected to be at the bottom of the team in terms of experience, post-game

 

I SHOULD have turned back a couple of minutes before I did. I doubt it would have effected the eventual outcome but it would have increased the odds slightly. 

 

I am absolutely convinced that turning back to defend is almost always the right thing to do. It's so much easier to pour damage into an enemy that is pushing. Continuing to an enemy base in the hopes that you can outcap them just never seems to work.
