... the "General" forum is not the place to be looking..

So check different forums.. especially  the sub forums on specific classes.  That's where you'll find info on module use, ship specific tactics, and all the other goodies the whats and where fores.   It's also THE place to ask for real meaning full help if a particular class of ship is giving you fits (either using one... or being PWN'd by one on all to regular a basis)

General is mostly folks griping about what they do not yet understand.. Venting their frustration etc.  (and on occasion to get teased unmercifully for being way to newbish!)

There is a whole lot more going on under the hood in this game then most players realize.  And a great deal for players to learn and understand..  And every time they add a new ship, much less a line of ships there is then a massive amount of educated best guess's and going out and figuring out what for.

The number one thing to understand is game balance is an ongoing thing.  And Player balance is flat impossible to do anything about.  They are NOT the same thing.  If you don't learn what ships can and cannot do.. and that would be at a minimum all of the ships within two tier above and below your chosen tier of play, you will be at a disadvantage.   If you do not learn the maps you play on you will be at a disadvantage.  If you do not learn the subtleties of when to push, when not.. when to be all defensive, and when not you will simply not do well in the long run.

Anyone can play World of Warships.. but getting good at it does not come naturally.. It takes study.. and a whole lotta paying attention.

A piece of advice about mods how ever.   several mods give you an unfair advantage over other players...  learn to play without them as over time many mods may be rendered unusable if the dev team finds they are causing play balance issues.  I don't use any mods what so ever other then the training room enabler, replay enabler, and region changer as I personally play on more then the US servers.   everything else is pure vanilla WoWS.   I don't do half bad and I do play on a competition team.  I'm unicum, but I am a much more solid player then my stats would lead you to believe.

It's not mods to the game,or cheats, or even the ship you play that makes you good at this game.. it's the skills YOU develop.   Getting good is all on you and no one else.

SO if you want to gripe and moan and groan about how unbalanced everything is, how this that and the other thing are "OP" yep.. General Forums are for you.   If you want to get good...start hitting the sub forums and farming information.   You get told a lot of information which is very situational and won't apply everywhere, but its all there to be learned and other players do share it.  They share it for the same reason I do..  Because the more challenging a player you are, the more challenged "I" am to get better at this game!   I want you to learn all my tricks, all my game secrets.

Being good at World of Warships is all about how good you are at learning the game.. and the learning never stops.   Yes there are super good players out there we refer to as "Unicums"  (there is a you tube vid on where that term originated) but let me give you a clue about unicums...Yes they are good...but it's very surprising to run into one that not only a good sport but a gracious player.   They don't do real well in competitive TEAM play with fixed teams.  When everyone on your team is a super star well, they tend to get in each others way emotionally, mentally, physically.  The everyone one is in change but no one is actually leading thing...and if someone is told to do something they don't like they just wont do it.. after  all they are an expert player ya know?

Anyway.. good luck, Good Hunting, and by all means have fun playing.  Hope this lil info post helped.. and if it didn't ya, know, thats ok too!

These 'unicums' aren't exactly mythical creatures able to win random games 1 v 10. Even in randoms there is a team aspect to the game. They usually get there because they recognize where they are needed to be early into the match and make accurate predictions on how this match is likely to turn out.

Feel free to prove me wrong..  There was at least two teams during the last two seasons in supremacy league made of of "unicum" players and they got their butts kicked and disintegrated as teams before the end of the seasons.

To many are all about the ego and they may be personally good.. but they lack the ability to knuckle down and be actual "team" players.  Seen it to many times in online games, and in the real world.  Team oriented players make up good teams.  Superstars make scary teams but are rarely as good as they could be.   They tend to fail in the clinch.  And fold when things get rough.
