Road to Kurfurst, what to expect?

I am at Tier IX Friedrich der GroBe, 172k exp. and I wonder what to expect from Kurfurst. Is this a good battleship? Is the best Tier X battleship?

From what I know it's big, it's beast, has 406/420mm guns, and x12 of them in x4 triple turrets. It can citadel Yamatos. (At least that's what I saw at close range in that 360k dmg video) and like all German BBs, it has nice secondaries.

Its a bigger FDG. Hit harder than FDG, but it plays similar.

I always thought Yamato's horizontal armor was good.

Grobe is a nice ship -- like all T10s, mediocre (or worse) games bleed credits, but she is pretty easy to play for a T10. She's far more forgiving than Montana.
 

She takes a pounding (but doesn't like torps much), giving you the opportunity to stay tucked in to big brawls and generate good damage.

She handles like a dump truck and is visible from just inside the orbit of Neptune, so you can't sit and tank if there are torp launchers around. I have the 420s mounted on mine. RNGesus doesn't like the 420s much, but if you plan your shots well they are devastating. The HE does big damage also so don't hesitate to switch if you're going to end up nose-to-nose with a Moto or an Zumo.

 

Like all big Germans, get within 11km and you can count on your secondaries to aggravate the neighbors. I use manual and (in a brawl) retarget as soon as I get a fire icon on someone (or set the secondaries on an auxiliary ship while trading big shells with another BB.

Try not to fly solo because she *will* draw attention and everyone, plus their third cousin Margaret, will focus on you. Try to make friends with a cruiser or 2, especially one with torps cause this will force other BBs to open their flanks and give you nice targets.
