Belfast wont be around forever. Get it while you can. Kutuzov is a great ship and will always be available for purchase.

I'd have a hard time just picking one now that I've played both!

Both are very good but IMO, Kutuzov is the easiest to play with.  You simply stay at range and pelt guys.  The only thing you need is good aim.  Belfast is an RN CL and those ships need a touch of finesse to work.  If you know how to play RN CLs well, Belfast is a Match Winner.  A significant dealio with Belfast is she gets the upgrade slot of Tier VIII+ so she can have CSM1 for even better concealment ranges, which is a major, major deal since she's the only Tier VII that can do that.  Also, Belfast is a Tier VII instead of the VIII that Mikhail Kutuzov is.  That means Belfast doesn't see Tier X unless you Fail Div.  It also means she faces as low as Tier V ships.  Yes.  Emeralds, New Yorks, Omahas get to say, "Hi" to deceitful, trollful Belfast.

A Full Concealment Build is much more feasible now with 0.6.0 and a Belfast setup that way can have a ridiculous concealment range that is just a hair worse than Destroyers of that tier.  That is very bad news for Tier VII and lower DDs.

Uh its in the Tech tree same as the kutuzov.    They both could go away at anytime pending WG.

Both are Solid ships.

Belfast if you want to max out at facing T9 ships  (Belfast can stealth fire with around a 2 km window)

Kutuzov if you don't care about facing T10 ships.

Cannot go wrong with either.

Incorrect. Belfast is on the tech tree.

MK is the best performing premium cruiser in the game, and at the highest tier for premium cruisers, which means maximum credit income. MK is better from a performance and credit income standpoint. Is literally a Chapayev (which is OP as hell on it's own) with way better torps, and smoke instead of radar. What more can you ask for.

This^^^

Just like the Atlanta sailed off into the sunset-

Either boat will bring joy.

+1 if you already know the RN characteristics...

So Belfast has heal party and RN special AP but no HE? :P

I enjoy Belfast more than Kutuzov, but that's because I like making DD players cry.  YMMV. =)

No heal on Belfast....No famous RN AP either....but its AP is more than satisfying.

Her RN DNA are her skating traits when braking...

Proper CO skills will turn the Belfast into the enemy's Dream Smasher

It really depends on your playstyle.  Kutuzov is likely easier to master due to her high velocity guns and excellent range.

NO!!!

Belfast has HE...( no heal)) and if you build a SPECIAL dedicated capt for her and skill IFHE.... chat will be filled with the salty tears of your enemies.....especially if you set up as a DD hunter... RDL IFHE....and such.. she is very maneuverable and does very well hunting DD prey

I say dedicated because RN cruisers gain NOTHING from "skilling" IFHE, and the IFHE in the Belfast is, I have heard, one of the best in the game tier for tier   cruiser for cruiser....

MK probably.

Belfast has too many downsides compared to the MK atm.

Commander isn't applicable to other RN captains.

Can't be used in Ranked.

Buggy RN smoke.

Shorter range.

I would only get Belfast if you really like playing aggressive DD support/hunting

I'd say MK is a great ship at her tier and she performs very well facing T10 because of her range.

But Belfast is just OP and more fun.  Comparing the two and the opponents they can face, Belfast's only real downside is her AA.

I have both ships, and I enjoy both of them a whole lot.  There are some points to consider.  MM aside these two ships have different play styles.  Belfast thrives in medium range, where it's radar is useful, and it has great concealment to dodge in and out of such range.  Kutuzov needs to stay further away, because of its size and visibility.  Ironically torpedoes would be much more useful on ship like Belfast,  but you can't have it all.  Also MM is important.  Meta and map selection are better for Belfast for majority of games between these two ships.

Yeah I was mocking ya for the fact that Belfast has only ONE (or 2) characteristic in common with the RNCL line :P

I seem to be able to get away with much more stupidity in the Kutuzov, simply by virtue of how far away she's generally played.  She's a long-range HE sniper at heart, whereas the Belfast is more of a DD hunter.  ((Though, Kutuzov has the accuracy, velocity and fire rate to be an anti-DD nightmare in her own right.))

Personally, I haven't given my Belfast all that much of a chance, simply because my RN captain lacked the CE skill.  With the tree reworked, I may need to revisit it.

MK - just got both, they work very similarly but the MK has decent torps.  MK at tier 8 and can up tier pretty effectively.  Range is much better and can have a big game impact, even when not in smoke.

Belfast and Perth are slightly different CLs than the tech tree versions, both having HE whereas their respective counterparts Edinburgh and Leander do not. Additionally, the Belfast and Perth themselves do not have heal like the tech tree versions. Belfast also lacks torpedoes unlike Edinburgh, and trades the two traits for having Surveillance Radar. However, unlike Edinburgh, it is one tier lower and still has access to Concealment Module System, allowing you to be the stealthiest tier 7 cruiser.

Mikhail Kutuzov, on the other hand, trades in its Surveillance Radar for smoke. But both ships have smoke - Belfast's is harder to deploy properly and lasts extremely long whereas Kutuzov's deploys easily but doesn't last long.

So, do you prefer having a tier 7 clubber and being able to sneak up, pop smoke, and fire at your leisure, or play tier 8 and prepare to play with a CL in high tiers? Or, even simpler, do you plan to go down either VMF cruiser line or RNCL line? Both are good premium ships.

Belfast plays a LOT more like a cap hunter DD than a cruiser. You spent a lot of time around islands in smoke. But you don't have torps.

Kutuzov is best at range, lighting the world on fire.

Depends on your play style. I have the Belfast and it's an OP troll with HEAP and CE. it melts everything with HE. I added DE back so it lights fires as well as it used to.

I already have a stand-off fire starter in the Chappy (another ship that melts stuff with HEAP).

Belfast with camo, CSM1, CE goes down to 8.7km detection range, 13.3km when mains fire with max range of 15.4km
