Not a nerf, since the skill was also moved down to a tier three skill, and needed to be adjusted accordingly. It was openly done, and there was no stealth with the change.

Commander Skill Updates -  Since Part I, we tweaked the Commander Skill tree:

  • Survivability Expert: the skill was moved to Tier 3 (-1). Health points increase was lowered from 400 to 350 per ship tier. Thus, it got more accessible at the cost of slightly reduced efficiency.

It was not worth it before, it is even less worth it now.

 

3500 more HP at tier 10 is peanuts when one shell can do more than double that in Damage.

There are far better places to put your points in to.

Hardly.

 

It provides 12.5% less HP for 25% fewer captain points. You now get more bang for your buck. 

 

That's not a good way to calculate SE value. Even though you get more HP per skill point the impact of the skill has went down as the number of times it will keep you alive has lowered. The skill is now cheaper and less valuable.

 

Also the extra point we get from grabbing the new SE is pretty much wasted in DDs since all the skills at tier 1 are useless for the class (and the BFT+SE combo now cost 6 points instead of 5).

It seems at most levels the stealth of the dd is almost nil nowadays!! the new modules have made me stop using dds/ that infinite radio baloney is at the top of the most hated list for me /I know its ''ARCADE''  game but at tier ten its even harder to make even the most simple torp run on a target !!

looks as if someone never read the patch notes. Been that way since day one on the test server and live..no nerf just ignorance on your part.

Doesn't the % increase in protection depend on the base HP and the tier of the ship?

 

Edit: nvm, I get what you were writing.  Deciding on whether or not it's worth the points depends on the ship.

It's generally seen as a DD skill considering 350 HP/Tier actually has some meaning measured against their skinny health pool.

 

For classes other than DD it'd be a complete waste.
