Question, because I'm blanking on this and want to check my own thoughts: Does Clemson benefit greatly from IF/HE? 102mm guns...will the greater pen power from the IF/HE skill make a difference against her typical targets? She already has no problem penning the cruisers she sees, I only really break shells on t5 BBs as is.With IF/HE, she can now pen 22mm of armor instead of 16. And the extremtities of the t5 BBs (bow/stern) have 19mm armor (well, Konig has a thicker belt extending to bow but still the top is 19mm) . So IF/HE should give me better dmg against t5 BBs, right? Which should make it worth it.

It would be worth it for higher tiered DDs, as their caliber remains the same, but BBs armor increases.

I would say get it if you plan to continue on down the line. But i cant say how useful it will be on 102mm guns.

Quite useful, as tier 4-5 BB armor plating is 19mm thick.

With HEAP this allows 102mm guns to start damaging it... however, the viability of this is kind of "eh" since:

1) it's low tier, the amount of captain points you'll be getting is relatively less unless you're a dedicated sealclubber

2) fire chance nerf is proportionally high

More passive play may reward fire RNG (and not using HEAP), but aggressive, non-stop firing playstyles will find HEAP on the Clemson very useful.

Clemson's guns penetrate 22.1mm of armor with the skill, which makes it more easily able to damage battleships.  All the same, though, there's really no need to be gunning down a BB through his bow unless you're already rushing him; AFT is much more useful IMO because it extends her relatively-short main gun range and her ballistics are capable of taking advantage of it.

so is HEAP the new word for the shells you sling with this skill????

I have a 17 pt capt (will be 18 soon) and play extremely aggressive. AFT is a given; I wouldn't run Clemson without it. Just trying to figure out my 2nd 4 pt skill. :D

I don't think it's worth the skill point investment after testing it out for the last week. Gun damage seems mostly the same but fires are all but gone.

If you've got that many captain points on your Clemson captain you should be able to easily hit superstructures on the BB you face at that tier (not to mention at that range of 10km), placing even less value on the skill.

I'm switching out of IFHE after putting some time into the build, going to drop it and maybe get into something else.

The only reason I'd keep IFHE on this captain is mostly for the time I swap him into Atlanta, now THERE is a ship that benefits greatly from IFHE.
