So is the inertia fuse any good for these ships? I feel like it could be but don't want to jump the gun and assume. Being that both use HE a considerable amount I thought perhaps it would be a good idea. I'm sure someone with experience and that knows the mechanics can give an educated thought.

Initial thought is that it won't be as good as a full secondary build. Not much else the ship could pen with IFHE.

Might be neat to see some tests on secondaries and see if it boosts their performance enough to help on some of the high tier german ships.

I heard some theories that the IFHE would be good for secondaries as well. I'm more asking about the primaries for these ships due to the smaller yet larger caliber guns.

Given the Scharnhorsts poor HE performance advertised from the start I'm wondering what if any improvements this may offer especially now that DE was nerfed. Sigh! On the road so it'll have to wait for me anyway...

I was thinking it might be interesting to test out.  I am thinking the IFHE would be good on most Soviet Cruisers.  I am thinking it will be good on the Kutuzov as well.  I am going to test it out a bit.  I use He a lot on Scharn and Graf so this might be a viable option and with the 11 inch guns this would be interesting as I said.

well seeing as how the Kutzof is a premium I might try my new Moskva Capt in it... but so far I am betting 4-5K damage strikes at MAX range with HE on just about every tier 8 9 and ten BBs I see.. Yammy's Bismarcks, Iowas, Missori... and I dont remember such high numbers with HE before this.... Maybe it is I was not paying attention and just going for the fires, but I do remember just seeing 1-2 K popping up.... with HE...

IF I am right then the Moskva just got better, if that is even possible...

I suppose it will be a great addition to the HINDY and the Zao as well... CE, DE IFHE..... maybe RDF.....so far I have no complainmt

No, it's not worth it.  Scharnhorst can't citadel cruisers with HE even with Inertia Fuzes, and her fire chance is a bit low as it stands.  The penetration of her secondaries doesn't matter too much either: the 105s aren't boosted enough, and the 150s, while they gain the penetration to damage bow-on T8 BBs, aren't very many in number.

Gneisenau, however, is a different story.  The 15" guns can citadel every CA she meets except New Orleans and Baltimore with HE, and the 128s gain enough penetration to start damaging bow-tanking T6-7 BBs and T8+ CAs.
