Beta divisions

Remember the beta?

Remember when the matchmaker had a +3/-3 tier spread?

Remember how Battleships and Destroyers were generally not really under performing with that kind onf MM?(pffft- what is this Carrier or cruiser type of ship?)

 

How many of you guys said yes?

 

Personally- I hate the whininess of the people who find themselves in a tier 8 in a tier 10 battle. Well name and fame/shame- or whatever you want to call it, but in my final Bismarck battle pre skill change and nerf- I encountered a Colorado not afraid to go toe to toe with a Bismarck and a Grosser(sadly, it ended predicatably: I did SFA with my dispersion and found more interest in killing the enemy shokaku). But, he earned a compliment from me for plodding through it and not uttering a single whine in the battle.

 

Divisions like this should be called Beta divisions because honestly- they are just trying to enjoy the game in the ships they are limited to/enjoy playing(though the Scharnhorst is the only tier 7 BB that I can say I like playing).  Hell, you can't really call it a fail division in my eyes when the player in question is 6th in his team- ahead of the Shimakaze, Fletcher, Iowa, and Kagero. Shame on those players.

 

anyway, let's try and discuss something positive for once- like when a tier 7 battleship in a tier 10 battle earns himself a position half way in the list of potatoes, and earned more experience than tier 9 and 10 ships that survived longer in battle on his team. Good effort, you true blue battler.

Yeah but did you notice that the Shimakaze, Iowa, and others on the red team all gained less base exp than the Colorado? Those players deserve to be shamed

Bottom tier boats get top of the scoreboard all the time... that doesn't mean it's not annoying when 90% of my bismark games have 2 red yamatos and I never see a tier 7.

It shouldn't be annoying. It's just a fact of life that you will face 2 tiers higher than you at some point, so just suck it up, play smart and you will survive and  maybe even do well
