Instead of Tank Companies

What you think the tank companies equivalent should be named?

 

I like armada.

Although armada just means "fleet", I think that its connotation is about a large number of ships.  I am not sure that the limited number of ships we will have in the game qualifies.  Just my opinion though.

well the US Navy calls them fleet, so i just figured thats what they are called,  I mean they never are refered to as a company thats more of a ground troop name ralther than a navy term

It all depends on the period of time you are considering.

For example, in 1940, the USN had 243 large active surface ships (destroyers and bigger).  In 1945, that number was 932.

By comparison, the Spanish armada (the only fleet called an armada, as far as I know) had roughly 160 ships.

During WW2, the battle of Leyte Gulf was the largest naval battle.  The combined 3rd and 7th US fleets totaled over 200 combat ships.  I didn't find any sign that it was ever called an armada, but even if it were, it would be much larger than the 15-24 ships we might have in the game.

squadrons seem to have been used by smaller vessels and division  seems to have been used by larger vessels. as a whole for organizing a clan or something similar I would go with fleet if there were no other ways to organize.

My mistake!  From the beginning, I thought we were talking about the equivalent of "platoons".   I voted again, accordingly.

I think fleet would be a good name for Tank Companies in World of Warships, while Task force I  think would be a good name for platoons here.

Not only is a Task Force basically the WW2 equivalent of a group of ships, it just sounds cool.
