Ok so I was reading one of the newest Qa.   with the devs on reddit.   And this topic came up so I want to do a poll on it to see what you guys ran for IJN DD.   This only really applies to top tier because of the torp changes.

Hi! I have two questions:

Do you plan to buff the most underpreforming IJN DDs? Also the upcoming changes like RDF skill and the removing of stealt fire make them totally unplayable.

Let me explain: The following IJN DDs have the worst win rate, below 50% and damage compared to their tier counterparts: Fubuki ( she has worst stats than old Mutsuki and that DD considered bad...); Kagero; Yuugumo and Shimakaze. I made some screenshots:

IJN DDs really need some fix beause they have very few advantages left because either WG nerf them directly, like torpedo detection range or introduce new mechanics which nerf them indirectly like radar, and now the upcoming Radio Position Finding skill will cripple totally the torpedoboat gamestyle. The only really advantage what left for IJN DDs are stealth and Radio Position Finding skill and the planned stealth fire remove will be the last nail into the coffin. So please consider the followings and don't ignore these issues. Because atm it looks like WG is trying to make IJN DD line more and more useless and uncompetitive on purpose.

Can you give us a hint when the Haifuri collab starts approx or any info? What we know so far is just a small announcement on the Asian portal from last year, no further official info since then.

Thanks!

Hello!

Currently there are no plans to buff IJN DDs and no fact that they are/will be unplayable. Typically, when IJN DD player has slightly worse avg.stats, it is because of trying to spam torps from longest distance possible. In the early days, that was a viable and effecient option - not anymore. IJN DDs became more skill-demanding and difficult. We realize that, but we are not inclined to change that.

There is no purpose in doing any line uncompetitive. That would be very dumb of us. However, making line more demanding is acceptable.

I am sorry that I did not provide the answer you probably was looking for, but there it is.

As for Haifuri, such things are mainly handled by our ASIA colleagues. I don't participate.

Cheers!

F3's all the way.  Almost impossible to dodge.

When i used the 20km torps at max range my concealment had me at 6.1km so i was able to keep the enmy lit while using the torps to herd or direct the enemy in a certain direction towards my teammates.  Also surprisingly i would usually get 1 or 2 hits out at max range when i fired along their rear flanks.   I also have used them at max range but with the captain skill to boost them and drop range for awhile.

I think that's why he said "almost" impossible to dodge rather than just "impossible to dodge".

Reality: WG is slowly but surely wrecking all classes but BB's, and the things being wrecked end up defacto buffing the BB's. It doesn't matter what torps one uses with IJN DD's, unless it's a premium, it's a total waste of time. Once fire chance is nerfed, along with added fire prevention, ffs, The Revenge of the BBabySith will be complete.

I like using the type 93 mod 3.   torps the most.  it gives a nice wiggle room the ship needs to keep from getting obliterated by other dd and cruisers.   I find the f3 torps are fast but they still have the same detection range as the mod 3.  and it supports the yolo dd style I hate some much. You see it alot at low tiers.   the strongest part of this ship is in the end game where you can really swing the battle in yur teams favor.   but if you play to agresivle in the beginning with this torp you die really fast and if you play to passively in the beginning you are use less to your team.   the only thing I wish they buff would be more to 15km and that is it

I think it is because most new players start by playing battleships. They get angry because they can't drive in a straight line and insta-delete everything.

I personally think the fire nerf to fire chance and reduction to how many fires is a good thing.

I sometimes go back and forth between the type 3 and the 12 km ones.  Really depends on my mood.  Anecdotally, I think the type 3 are better for killing enemy DDs in smoke, but the 12 km torps are more flexible.

Very true. The enemy ship can't dodge the torpedoes when they don't even have the range to reach them in the first place.

Shimakaze's short range torp is meant to replace "torpedo acceleration" skill and freeing two points for you to use somewhere else.

What?  No God mode in WoWS?  That's it; I quit.
